We stayed four nights at the Novotel in Bucharest and unfortunately left disappointed. The room did not meet the standards we expect from a 4‑star hotel. When we first arrived, the room was uncomfortably warm—around 23°C—and adjusting the thermostat had no effect throughout our stay. This was especially frustrating given the hotel’s own message in the bathroom recommending a temperature of 19°C for environmental reasons. The breakfast area was consistently overcrowded, suggesting that the hotel simply doesn’t have the capacity to accommodate the number of guests it hosts. It made what should be a relaxing part of the morning feel stressful and chaotic. There were also maintenance issues: the toilet door wouldn’t close properly and would slam loudly every time, which was both inconvenient and disruptive. We had specifically requested a quiet room, yet we were placed directly in front of the lift. This choice alone raises questions about the hotel’s attention to guest requests and overall professionalism. Overall, the experience fell short of what we expected, and we hope the hotel takes these issues seriously for future guests.

We stayed in a family room with our daughter and although the rooms were modern and nice, I did find the layout slightly obscure. The toilet was separate from the bathroom with no sink to wash your hands. You had to then go round to the bathroom to wash your hands. The hotel itself is nice. We stayed between Christmas and New Year and it appeared to be very family orientated. We had a drink at the bar on an evening which was reasonably priced. However there were a few issues that brought the score down. Breakfast had a good choice and was tasty but the hot section was never hot. Always luke warm. And every single coffee machine never produced a drink above, probably around 45°C on top of this they were so slow and backed up every morning. The final issue was the lifts. There are 3 but one always seemed to be getting repaired. Howeve. They did not appear to be programmed correctly. We were on the 8th floor and going up after breakfast we stopped at every single floor because they seemed to stop when people wanted to go down. There was also no indication on any floor, apart from the ground, where the lift was or whether it was coming. This was a problem for people checking out to get their luggage down. Apart from that, like I said the hotel was nice and the staff were great. Well located between the old town and new time seemed a good base. Whether it was just the time of year, I would probably not recommend this for single groups of adults as there were lots of kids about in the bar and reception.

I personally, along with my family, highly recommend this hotel. The hotel is very clean, and the service is excellent and very professional. We did not face any problems during our stay. My name is Mahran, and I would like to sincerely thank the entire hotel staff, especially cristina. She is a wonderful, kind, and very helpful person. Words cannot express my gratitude. Cristina is a truly wonderful person. She is kind, polite, and always helpful. Her positive attitude and warm smile made our stay even more pleasant. She genuinely cares about the guests, and her service comes from the heart.
