Rooms are not worthy of hotel star rating. Excellent base for being in town but that is it. Reported, wet carpet due to leak from a bodge job piping from shower, dirty carpets, maintenance poor of lighting. Strange layout with a toilet with no sink and broken shower screen seals.

I have stayed in your hotel for the past 23 years annually as my favorite Reading hotel. I am a morning swimmer, and appreciate that option. Also your breakfasts are fine. On the other hand the hotel seems to be in a need of basic maintenance and repairs. Also I would highly appreciate an opportunity to have my morning swim already at 6 AM well before my 8 AM meetings at the university campus.

Absolutely shocking, stayed on the 5th floor and had to keep on going back to reception for them to come back upstairs and let us into the room. Apparently the battery in the door needed charging 🤷‍♂️ no offer of another room or upgrade offered

Always pleasant and enjoyable, the only issue I have is the shower, the head of the shower is always moving off centre because of the feeder pipe.
