Central location within a walking distance to the train station Hauptbahnhof and the old town of Munich. We stayed at a duplex suite and it had a nice view of the trains from the room. It was nice to have the automatic black out blind over the tall windows as one was entirely made of glasses. It was all carpeted floors except for the bathrooms. The reception was efficient and professional and I did not notice any slowness as some other reviewers mentioned. Breakfast was good with a variety of options and service was fast. I particularly appreciated the amazing selection loose tea leaves. The room service menu was disappointing for me. There were more French options than German. When in Germany, I do prefer to have German food. I ended up just walking to the train station to pick up take out. There are a lot of food outlets there along with a multiple options of grocery stores.

The individual who checked us is was very personable. We arrived early due to the fact our flight from North America was the red eye. Of course our rooms were not ready, as expected so early, however, we were under the impression that one of the rooms would be ready possibly in a few hour. We left our luggage and went shopping. Came back to the hotel and many people were checking in and getting their rooms. Not us! Our rooms were not ready. In fact we had to wait till after 3:00 to finally get our rooms. I was thinking that maybe it took so long because we were going to get an upgrade or special rooms. Not so, we got interior rooms with no access to fresh air like most of the other rooms! Additionally, my room was "worn" and needed to be cleaned much better. My shower had mold growing in many areas. The second room we had, also an interior room, the shower drain backed up all over the floor. Would you not think whoever cleans the room would have noticed this? As I said, lack of attention to details! Lastly, I had ordered chocolate for my second room. Well, no surprise, the chocolate was not in the room. So I called and reminded them about this...already paid for it upfront, and the chocolate was never delivered during our stay. Again I must stress attention to details when you are paying almost 800 euros a night. I will avoid this hotel on my next visit!

we stayed in this hotel and it was wonderful! Room was clean and bed so comfortable. But the best part is Mr. Umut Mahmoud the hotel manager. He very kind and helpful, always smile and ask if we need anything. He make us feel like family. When we have problem or request Mr. Mahmoud solve it very fast. He always check if we happy. Thanks to Mr. Mahmoud we had best time! We will come back for sure.

Oktoberfest in Munich

We chose the Sofitel due to its walking proximity to the carnival. A few things: 1. Oktoberfest is HUGE size wise. 2. the hotel is in great walking distance to it. 3. the. hotel had a fantastic pop up on the 5th floor for hair and makeup. The ladies there were GREAT! I used them both days for hair. 4. the pop up shop had plenty of dirndls to choose from as well. 5. the bar has great ambiance and the staff were very friendly! Great hotel. would stay again!
