Bilal provided us good service in the cafe. He went well above and beyond his duties and served us very comparatively. I very much want to come back here and my decision is influenced in part by the very good service provided by Bilal. Me and my family enjoyed the stay here in Sofitel Cairo.

Nice hotel let down by poor sound insulation from outside noise.

A nice hotel right next to the Nile in downtown Cairo. Very good buffet breakfast and good pool area with bar and good service. Well located for touring Pyramids and close to Cairo Museum. Kebabgy Oriental BBQ restaurant was very good and very popular. Prices for high quality food there were quite reasonable for a 5* city hotel. Two negatives - the bathroom double doors were a pain to use. The major flaw with this hotel was the insufficient sound insulation to deaden the very loud music from the Nile party boats, which travel very slowly past the hotel, from entering the rooms. These party boats go on until 3.30am some nights. We were on the 10th floor and it was very loud in the room waking us up several times. If you can, go for the highest floor possible and use earplugs!!

The manager in Charge Mr Saad asked us to open one of the bag in the middle of the lobby we asked to discuss this matter in private at the room but he insisted that the discussion be made in the middle of the lobby in front people like we were sort of criminals. That was unprofessional and not up a 5 stars hotel standard that we expected. I was not embarrassed in hotel in my whole live like this.

Mr. Saad reexplained that we will send someone to pick it up from your room as it is the hotel policy as we do our best to provide our guests’ with a serine environment.
