The staff who checked us in was very friendly and through at explaining all we needed to know. She went beyond and even gave us info to questions we hadn't asked. The room however was on the poorer side. For 49€ a night I don't expect luxury, but the state of the room wasn't up to the standards we are normally used to at an Ibis Hotel. The socket of a plug was literally pulled out of the wall when trying to remove the plug. And the parking situation was horrible to say the least. The parking lots infront of the hotel entrance were ofcourse all occupied when we arrived. When you drive down to the underground parking you are presented with tiny, narrow parking spaces. And the entrance is at the same time an exit. So if you drive into the parking you have to have a small car in order to turn around. Otherwise you have to drive out the exit backwards out which is basically suicide because the driveway is a spiral. After a 15 hours drive it is an imposition on the guests and otherwise an impertinence. We were lucky to have only spent one night there.

All the receptionists and bartenders were doing a great job and made us feel like home! Matxalen did a great and all of them gave us everything we needed whenever we asked for something. For our business it's great to have a hotel so close to our job. Thank you

There was one receptionist busy with a group for the check-in and another one apparently free, but he didn't ask me if he could help, result, I had to wait around 10mn my turn just to order a pizza :-)

I have stayed in the hotel before, but to be greeted by name from all the staff shows how much they all care for their customers. It is always a fantastic experience in this hotel. As an example, I’m a vegetarian, so they modify the menu and ensure I get a different meal each night.

The hotel is alright for one night stay. Prices are decent for the services they provide however I am pretty sure that there was something wrong with the sewage system because I refuse to believe that someone used toilets in both of the rooms that I booked and then didn’t flush.

I have to say there is a young lady who works at the hotel called Visi who was amazing, we had some personal problems with cars etc and her customer service went way above the normal, so a big thank you to her for her help in this matter.

The first room we were allocated had no curtain. Reception staff immediately moved us to another room. In the restaurant for our evening meal we noted the table next to us received their meal (same as what we had ordered) before us even though they had ordered 10 minutes after we had. When we pointed this out to the staff they apologised and gave us a complimentary starter. When our food did arrive the vegetables were cold, the staff dealt with this and provided us with hot vegetables. The quality of the food was good when the problems had been resolved.

Good location for race circuit , staff where excellent very friendly and helpful. twin rooms a little on the small side but the beds are very comfortable.Breakfast is normal continental style and the evening meals were good all freshly cooked.

Ample rooms, great staff and very good breakfast. Quite so had a great sleep . Location not great if you don't have a car or want to visit Barcelona. For us was just perfect and one of the best Ibis we stayed in.

Can not fault anything about my stay it covered 4 days of the F1 race while the room price was up on a normal weekend (as hotels all over the world do) it was not beyond an average race fan, breakfast was full of choice, staff were very helpful and friendly

We have stayed in this hotel many times, the reason is we are travelling to SE Spain and it suits our requirements. The rooms are tiny and parking limited, they do have secure underground parking but I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a mini!! Breakfast has been cut to the minimum but is ok. Our room smelt of cigarettes, we didn't complain this time, as it was literally a overnight stay and this particular hotel suits our needs in a longer journey.

This Ibis would have been great if you wanted to be close to the F1 racetrack. It was my mistake but as we had a rent a car we made do. Staff were great and room and facilities were above standard. We probably rubbed shoulders with some famous F1 riders.

In need of an overhaul

The hotel is conveniently near the A7 for an overnight stop, but is now looking a little tired. There needs to be a thorough check of maintenance tasks, doors slightly skew so don't close, generally a little stale. As the F1 weekend approaches you do wonder whether this is the time to allow untrained staff to man the reception desk. Our booking was the return of a nights stay 6 weeks before and as Club members we would have expected the hotel to be aware of our requirements which they met on our journey down 6 weeks earlier. Instead we were met with an expression as if we had come from Marss and given a 1st floor room, when it would have been apparent that we have 2 dogs so had asked for a ground floor near the door so there would be minimal disturbance to other guests if they needed to go outside during the night. The meal menu was also restricted and of pretty poor quality, no matter how much the few kitchen staff try to make it as pleasant as possible. We may well drop Montmelo from our Place to Stay list if staff don't even know which guests are arriving that day. We usually enjoy very friendly staff on our stays at Montmelo and elsewhere, which is perhaps why our review is more negative compared to the Ibis standard elsewhere.. It is convenient, but that shouldn't mean standards are less. Please improve the dinner menu as well, travellers do appreciate a nourishing selection, not half warmed ready meals.
