My wife and I stayed two nights at the Novotel, which was a surprise as we had booked the Ibis next door, but due to our room being out of service we were transferred to the Novotel. It was all fairly seamless and after a minor delay we were in our room. The room (first floor) was a good size, and in the standard Novotel layout with separate toilet room and bathroom (not a fan of this layout as you have to walk to a different room to wash your hands). The bathroom had a good powerful shower with dual shower heads and a heated mirror. The bedroom had a very large wall-mounted TV, a comfy bed, sofa, wardrobe, safe, kettle with coffee / tea, and a small low table. The main gripe with the room was the lack of any work desk...I needed to work (it was a work trip) and all I could do was use the low table and sit on the small padded stool seat, but it wasn't very comfortable and there was no light nearby to illuminate my work papers. I have stayed at dozens of hotels and I can't remember the last time my room had no desk. The Wi-Fi worked well and was free. There were sufficient power sockets in the room although the USB charge ports on my side of the bed didn't work (it appears there was no actual socket behind the holes as my USB lead felt very loose and could slot into the hole either way around) - put simply the phone didn't charge, so I had to use my UK plug adapter. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful on both check-in and check-out. The hotel has no car park and the recommended parking next door was very expensive (I went to book in advance and for a two day stay it was over £80) - instead I parked near one of the tram stops outside the city and got the Metrolink in and out...a fraction of the cost albeit not so convenient. Overall a pleasant enough stay, but really missed not having a proper work desk.

We had a double bed room, excellent for a few nights stay. The location was ideal, with walking distance from main locations, such as the museums, Piccadilly square, etc. The room was cozy, warm, offering us clean cups, nespresso machine, kettle, and refilled goods. We took an optional breakfast, which was nice as well. Staff was polite and helpful at all times. Overall, a pleasant stay, would recommend

The Novotel is located in the heart of Manchester in the city centre. It is not too far from Piccadilly Gardens and St Peter's Square and Chinatown is also just a stone's throw from the hotel. The room we had was very clean and tidy and had a massive shower which was fantastic and the bathroom was well presented. The room was clean and tidy and quite spacious. I also spent a bit of time in the bar and the staff there were friendly and welcoming. Note, They only take card payments at the bar. NO CASH PERMITTED!!
