First time in an Ibis and probably the last if they are like this. Reception was lovely and modern and staff were excellent....as soon as got out of the lift that changed. I agree with a previous review, it is like a hostel. The carpet in the corridors is all stained, cheap chipped paint on the walls, it just looked awful. Room was tiny. I don't know how to describe the bathroom. It is a curved feature in the corner of the room that you have to step up in to and is made all of plastic. It reminded me of when you go to a festival and pay that bit extra for shower facilities....like a portaloo with a shower. The walls were all chipped, creased cheap net thing at the window. Bonus was the bedding was clean. Upon realising there was no iron I was just about to go to reception to request one when I saw a notice saying 'ironing room on 3rd floor'. I trudged up with my clothes to find a little tiny room with 2 rickety ironing boards and a couple of cheap irons.....absolute hostel vibes. I am not a snob in the slightest, and love a good bargain for a hotel. But this one I won't be returning to.

I’m an Accor member since over 20 years, between silver & classic status. I’ve come to this hotel in Manchester so many times. This time my room was not clean, the carpet had stains, the towels were dirty, the duvet smelled very bad, last night the heater did not work & I was given an electric radiator after waiting for quite sometime in my room in the cold & that radiator was not working good, half of it did not heat & the other half was not warm enough! Upon check in I asked about the welcome drink & was told that I’m not entitled to it ! I asked to have a different flavour of tea other than English breakfast & was told I’m not entitled & they only provide that flavour in the rooms & if I want I should buy it ! I have pictures for everything I described above! Unlike my stay in London where I was welcomed with a lovely note in my room & a drink & thoughtful gifts.. also I’m entitled to whatever flavour of tea & whenever I want to. Big difference!

Typical Ibis.. If you have stayed in a Ibis hotel before you will know what to expect. Some of the room was well worn I'd imagine due to the high footfall at this hotel. Stain on carpet and paint chipped off the wall. But have to say it was very clean. Good central location and friendly staff. Would stay here again if room was competitively priced !!

Speedy check-in, really friendly staff in the reception area. Rooms were basic, but very comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast next door at the Novotel was very good. Only down side was the windows were quite thin so I could hear the noise/traffic etc outside very easily.
