Novotel Glasgow delivers a friendly, reliable stay anchored by the warm team in 1‑Ate‑1, where staff are consistently welcoming. They quick to resolve. The lunch/dinner food offerings are both tasty and sensibly priced. The front desk remains attentive, and the hotel’s ongoing investment shows — including the new elevator panel replacing the pandemic‑era setup that was clever at the time but was not ready for high use. Rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable, with beds that actually support you instead of swallowing you whole. Breakfast is decent but still misses Glasgow’s cultural essentials: square sausage and a Morton’s crispy roll, soon to be UNESCO‑worthy omissions. Like an unfortunate head office omission. And like many Glasgow hotels, the only real drawback is the lack of air conditioning and windows that barely open thanks to local regulations that seem designed for a city that never gets warm. Overall, though, it’s a friendly, well‑run stay with thoughtful upgrades and solid comfort.

I’m in the hospitality industry so well versed in what makes a great stay. The check in was very efficient but also pleasant as the girl was lovely to my wife and I.

I stayed on the night of 20th August. We had 2 rooms, a twin for my friend and I and an accessible room for my sister who is in her 70s and disabled. The Italian lady on reception (duty manager?) was so lovely when trying to sort rooms near to each other - she provided us all with a drink while she did this. She then came and got us to explain the rooms, and she took time to speak to my sister who was delighted. Unfortunately the next morning my sister had a fall in her room and couldn't get up. The young man on reception got another key and came to help us get her up which wasn't easy. At breakfast, Julia (again, Duty Manager?) came to see if she was ok and brought an ice pack for her knee which was rather sore. All the staff in the restaurant were very helpful in asking if they could get anything for her. All of these people are a credit to the hotel and I'm so grateful to them all. They went out of their way to assist us and nothing was too much trouble. You have my sincere thanks.
