The overall experience was amazing! The staff were very accommodating, and the hotel was very cozy. Just a few things to improve: the elevator was a bit scary as it was making creaking sound, the breakfast buffet had a small selection during our stay and the coffee was a bit cold straight out of the machine.

In A Word, Underwhelming. No loyalty status recognition at reception, when checking in (I'm have Platinum ALL status - I don't expect trumpets to sound but a simple "thank you for your loyalty" would be nice". A poorly photocopied loyalty recognition welcome note in the room (mass photocopied, no care or thought put into it). No room service available - the QR code accessed room service menu message said "room service closed". Phoned room service three times - no reply. Went to the restaurant and the buffet was dreadful - a lot of food and variety of food, but nothing interesting or appealing about the dishes (quality of dishes poor - felt it would have had better at a budget venue / Valentines). The alternative a-la-carte menu was vert limited and also not appealing. I have always felt that the service at Novotel Ellerslie is excellent. It more than makes up for the rather dated decor of the accommodation. No so this time. Not of the standard I would expect of a Novotel Brand and left feeling that I get far better service, decor, amenities and value for money staying at Sebel Manukau.

Perfect for what we needed. Comfortable room carpets lift looking little tired. Lovely staff especially in the bar. Wine glass pricing rather out of step $22 for a glass of Church Road Chardonnay (gulp!)….
