The room smelled like an old bingo hall. Sleeping felt like lying inside an ashtray, and I woke up smelling as if I had spent the night in a place full of cigarette smoke. The bathroom and carpet give you mushrooms on your feet. Music played until 2 a.m., making it feel like you were sleeping in a nightclub. And the receptionist was as grumpy as a witch in a Disney tale. I hadn’t felt like I was staying in a backpackers’ hostel for years—until visiting this one.

The temperature in the hotel was extremely high, both in the hallways and the rooms. Opening the window was only an option during the day, as the smell of cannabis from downstairs drifted in at night. Furthermore, the rooms facing the courtyard are poorly insulated, leading to significant noise disturbance from everything happening outside during the night. It seems the hotel was aware of these issues beforehand, as we were given a compensatory upgrade including a free minibar. Breakfast was good—luxurious, though not 'super deluxe'.

Hotel is extremely dated. The room I had looked like it hadn’t been refreshed in years. Big problem with the bathroom facilities. Shower over a bath - and on the last morning of my stay the shower took 6minutes to provide hot water. The breakfast is not worth the price and I would suggest to not go for this and go to a local cafe instead. Stay here for good location - but don’t expect much more than a bed.
