But the bed was very hard so not much sleep which is important during a long road trip. Also the room lighting was very strange which meant you couldn’t put the bathroom or toilet light on during the night without switching the main room lights on first?? The service at reception was however exceptional as the two young ladies in the breakfast room were a delight even behind the face masks. We stayed at the Mercure in Roscoff the following evening wher the service was also excellent but the bed was very comfortable!

Checkin was rather casual but other than that the hotel was nice and the service good. Breakfast was also good and happily there was a toaster. The croissants could have been better, though. As the hotel is at the outskirts of town, the existence of a local bus service was much appreciated, although it stopped at about 7pm.

Room furniture worn. Restaurant closed for dinner though allowed by COVID-19 regulations. Rooms cleaned upon request. Front desk justified this by saying that it was posted in the elevator. However it was positioned in a way that upon entering the elevator one would have their back to it. Customers should be told this when checking in.

Very comfortable hotel on the far side of town by the port. Plenty of parking. The bedroom was particularly roomy and the bed one of the best I’ve enjoyed in an hotel recently. 35 minute walk into town along the side of the port. Very quite and clean.

The Hotel was excellent, a little out of Vannes. The restaurant was closed on sunday which was a disappointment. We were recommended to walk a short distance to a restaurant where we had what we thought was a good meal.

We had a perfect 2 nights stay in this hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist and be guided accordingly about the possibilities, parking, map, to be seen in the town, etc. The hotel is in a 20-25 minutes walk from the old town along the harbour. However, along the road you may find non time restricted parking place, if you are lucky. The twin room was large enough to lay down a yoga mat. The beds and beddings were perfect for us. The room quiet and clean, with water cattle, small fridge. The bathroom, shower were also convenient. I checked the “fitness room” and even if it is rather simple you may excercise with the equipment if you wish. I didn’t find it problematic. The breakfast was pretty good, but of course in busy hours you may have to wait for table or at the coffee machine. BUT, and this is also for other hotels we wisited in Bretagne, WHY there are no vegetables for breakfast? Where is the famous French agriculture, where are the fresh green products from the young farmers? At least tomato, paprika or cucumber? Pleas note that in Germany even in Ibis budget we may get vegetables! But dont panic, you won’t be hungry, since there is a really good sortiments for breakfast. Just a proposal to be more green, more healthy. There is a reataurant attached to the hotel, and as we saw the price level is about the same as in the town. There is a boat office really close to the hotel, you may visit the islands. We tried the small beach at Conleau, which is about 2 km from the hotel through a nice walking path. Shower and toilet are available. In brief, we were satisfied and the hotel is good for coming back for longer stay, too. Just reflecting to some opinions, we had no problem with the noice from the Casino. When we closed the window, it was ok for us, even if we are sensitive in this field.

Your fitness centre is absolute rubbish

Have a look at the equipment the Cherbourg Mercure have in their fitness room and then look at the sorry excuse that is the fitness centre in Vannes. I booked this hotel BECAUSE it had a "fitness centre" but all it has was a few tired aerobic machines, not a single dumbbell never mind a multigym! Pathetic.

Located a mile outside of the old city of Vannes and directly in front of the Gare de Mer the hotel is modern and stylish in its appearance and location with generous car parking. Now, when we arrived we struggled to find any staff or in fact a welcome. After 2 days stay we still felt it cold and uninviting with no one in the bar or activities in and around the public areas.(very different from the previous Ibis which was buzzing!). Also to note the Casino is across the road and runs until the early hours, so no sleeping with the window open !! Breakfast was good and room was OK.

Stayed for a night. We arrived slightly before lunch and our rooms were not ready so we left our baggage in the hotel baggage deposit room. For a 4* hotel, what they were provided were very basic, like one bottle of soap for shower and shampoo, no conditioner, paper cups, no toothbrush and toothpaste. Would say no toiletries except for that bottle for shower and shampoo. Bed is good but pillows were very soft. Location is less than 5mins walk to ferry terminal, and less than 10mins drive to the old town.

Nice hotel. Okay restaurant. No bar!!! No selections of at the bar. A real bar has complete selection of choices of alcohol for various drinks. Beer and wine are the only choices during the day and evening.

We planned a two night stay in this hotel with bed and breakfast in a Junior Suite. We also planned to eat in the restaurant on the first night as we had been travelling all day. The room furnishing and decor were dated, there were black marks or stains on the toilet wall and the window had a crack right across the middle. When we visited the Bar for a drink there was nobody available to serve us. It was necessary to get a waiter from restaurant to serve us who clearly had an unhelpful and unwelcoming attitude. We didn't enjoy the meal in the Brasserie. The Veal rice dish was only just warm and the mixed vegetables didn't look fresh - more look like boil in the bag food. The Mackerel was overcooked and again the vegetables looked unappetising. It was also overpriced for what it was. During the night we experienced antisocial behaviour through until six next morning from young people leaving a nearby nightclub. Shouting, arguing, car horns, music plus vandalism of vehicles in the car park opposite the hotel. The Reception staff didn't know the number or frequency of the bus into Vannes, something simple like that they should know. They seemed more interested in looking at their smartphones than greeting clients in the reception area. Breakfast was the only thing we enjoyed about this hotel and don't planned to stay here again.

Lovely hotel - we were on the 5th floor so had a fabulous view. Overlooking the water. Bedroom great, we would have preferred a bath to a shower, but the view more than made up for not having what we wanted! Receptionist very helpful and polite, as were all the staff. Great brasserie attached to the hotel. Didn't eat there (only drinks), but menu looked inviting. Longish walk into Vannes, but we like walking. If not, easy bus (no 7) right outside hotel into Vannes. Wonderful woodland walks alongside the water in the opposite direction.

A much needed break on a long trip. Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff were excellent. Everything we needed. We had time to wander around the old town and reception staff had provided map and pointed out things of interest. Just right for us.
