Accor advertise this hotel as 4 star it is flat out being a 3 star@ best Out side terrace overlooking the Rhine only opened for break fast, Restaurant most meals frozen micro wave heated, Room only made up if requested must give 24 hr notice, clean towels pick up @ reception if required Barman running bar, restaurant ,& delivering meals This hotel would win first prize for the key stone cops movies Worst Accor hotel we have ever experienced Hey Accor this hotel gives you a bad imagine

The Mercure Hotel Koblenz is modern, clean, and elegant. It is situated on the Rhine River. I must commend their breakfast. It was outstanding in their variety of offerings. There were six types of yogurt including vegan and lactose free, a large assortment of breads and cereals including gluten free muesli and an omelet station, scrambled and boiled eggs, both soft and hard boiled, as well as cold cuts, cheeses, fruit salads, a variety of coffee and teas and sparkling wine. On premises, there is a restaurant and parking is available. It is also easy to walk into town.

It is difficult to find the garage to the hotel. You follow signs which lead to a parking garage for hotel guests, but we didn't know which hotel. Please state Guest for Mercure Hotel. The hotel room was freezing cold. I had turned off the airco and the noise was still laudible and although there was a heathwave outside, it was freezing inside. One of the choices of the menu was not available. The menu is not that big to start with, so having one choice removed is not good. We were the first customers, so it did not run out. It really is not acceptable anymore to find a shower in a bath. It is a hazard. Both my husband and I had troubles getting out and slipping. Baths are outdated and should be replaced with a simple shower and screen, not a showercurtain. The hotel needs updating. The airco should be able to be turned off. You said you could not open the window, but we could. Showering in a bath is old-fashioned and dangerous. All was very clean though and that is very important and we were happy to find some foreign stations. The food was ok, nothing special and one item was already not being offered as you had run out at 18.00. You were in the middle of doing up the reception, that might have been an excuse.
