Normally I stay at mercure Wittenbergplatz, due to insane high prices (congresses) I tested Potsdam. Not too bad, but needs renovations and noice canceling if rooms are next to the elevators.

Hotel room was clean and ok for us as it was a base, somewhere to sleep and freshen up. If I had any comments to make it would be a lack of customer service around the bar area and restaurant. We enquired about booking a table for a group of 10 maybe 12 and were told we should have reserved 24 hours before, we took our business elsewhere so the hotel missed the chance to earn some 800+ euros from our group. Bar appears to close randomly and when drinks were requested the bar man said “ no tip, no drinks”, Strange how a hotel can operate in this manner…. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. No fridge in the room meant putting bottled water on the air con to keep it cool.
