Rude staff- very unfriendly!!

Extremely rude staff on arrival. There was no welcome and we were just handed our key cards and told “that’s it”. We had no explanation of how anything works and not even told which floor we were staying on. The room was tiny and had no kettle. However, the bed was big and very comfortable. The walls are thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the surrounding rooms and corridors. On check out, we asked reception if they could order us a taxi- they did not know how much a taxi would be to the station or whether we would be able to pay by card or not (surely something they should be aware of). There was no thank you or goodbye. This was our first time staying in an Ibis and frankly will be our last. Having stayed in many hotel chains around the world, we have never experienced such an unwelcome or been made to feel like a burden. The location was excellent - perfect walking distance to everything. Station was 30 min walk or 15 min in the taxi.

While our rooms are equipped with showers and hair dryers, we acknowledge that not having a kettle in the room can be an inconvenience, and we offer additional towels and toiletries upon request for our guests' comfort. Finally, we take your feedback seriously and will consider it as we constantly look to enhance our guest experience. Nonetheless, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our hotel's location. Situated in the heart of Brussels, our hotel's proximity to major attractions such as the Grand Place, shopping areas, and public transport is one of the features our guests value most. "My wife and son stayed there during the holidays, and we appreciated its excellent location. The staff were friendly, helpful and understanding particularly the female employees, who were cheerful and welcoming. However, we found it disappointing and quite rude that an employee roughly asked my son (He is 2,5) to move to different table (while my wife was busy bringing breakfast in the morning."

The bathroom floor is extremely slippery , I hurted my knee cap and almost fell.

Rooms were a bit on the small side but were fine as the location was excellent and very central to shops and the metro. About 5 minutes walk to a Christmas market and multiple food places as well as Carrefour supermarket. Overall I wouldn't have an issue to stay here again.
