The hotel was lovely, great location, spacious bedrooms, good choice at breakfast, majority of the staff were friendly and polite. On our second night of our stay the 15th December we arrived back in the hotel at approximately 9:30pm and decided to get a drink in the bar. We entered the bar and sat at table. Any of the tables that were available were set for dinner. There were 2-3 tables that had not been cleaned off after someone eating. The bar man came over to us and asked if we were there for dinner or drinks to which we said drinks. He then proceeded to tell us that we could not sit there as it was a table for dinner so he asked us to move. We stood up from the table and picked up our belongings. Over to the right of the Christmas tree there was a male sitting at a table for 2 working on a laptop. Then there was an empty table for 2 in the corner and at the other side of the empty table there was a male sitting at a table for 4 on the phone. The bar man went over and pulled a table away from the man sitting at the table for 4 and pushed it against the table for 2 in the corner. The man sitting at the table had to move all his bags over. The bar man was expecting us to squash into the corner of the bar when there was a number of other tables free. We expressed that we did not want to sit there and asked could we not sit at the original table we picked. He said no as we were not having dinner and then he would have to clear the dinner settings off the table, he instead said he would clean the dirty tables for us. We explained that we had sat at a table that was set for dinner the night before and the bar man had no issue and cleared the table for us. His reply was still that we could not sit there. I left the bar and went to reception and asked to speak with a manager. The staff member at reception made me aware that he was the shift leader. He agreed that it was ridiculous that the bar man would not let us sit at the original table. The shift leader went and spoke to the bar man. When he came back he informed us that the bar man was willing to clear the table for us and told us that the bar man lost motivation in the job and did not like what he was doing over the last few months. As a customer this is not our problem that a staff member is lacking motivation. If this is the case the staff member should not be dealing with members of the public if they are not capable of treating residents correctly. Two of our party went to bed very upset and embarrassed by what had happened. Myself and my mam went back out and went to a different bar for a drink. When we returned to the hotel we asked the staff members at reception for the name of the shift leader and the name of the bar man. They informed us that the shift leaders name was possibly Mathews and that they did not know who the bar man was. This incident put a whole damper on our stay at your hotel and we were left feeling very disappointed with how the bar man treated us and how the shift leader dealt with the situation. I would be obliged if you would investigate this incident and revert back to me with how this is being dealt with. Overall your hotel is lovely, but some staff really let it down with their lack of knowledge on how to treat the residents.

Hotel is in an ideal location, close to numerous restaurants & bars plus the Grand Place. Buffet breakfast was first class. All staff, especially those on reception were very helpful. Beds were rather hard & difficult to get room to correct temperature.

The hotel is very good, and I really like its location. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to enjoy the facilities, such as the pool and sauna, because I was in meetings most of the time. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely come back on my next trip
