We stayed here for three nights after our wedding in Sheffield on the 30th August. The room was clean and comfortable with the housekeeping staff always on hand to replenish anything needed. The pool was very warm and enjoyable as it is booked in slots to keep down numbers. The staff were great however massive shout out to Milo who made our wedding stay even more special! Amazing member of staff, very welcoming and chatty :)

- room was not clean (can send photo if needed) - pillows were horribly lumpy - room very hot and no air con ( only heating). Couldn’t leave window open due to road noise - lots of dirty glasses - two drinks from bar, one glass large lump on jam on it, breakfast took me about 6 glasses to find one that didn’t have palpable dirt on it - swimming pool was ridiculously hot, even for a child. Felt like a jacuzzi Wouldn’t stay again

I booked this hotel for a couple of nights as we were visiting family. The hotel claims to be 4 star and although I don’t like it, I have to lean towards those others who have also had a negative experience here recently. The hotel is not a 4 star establishment, I’d say 3 at a push. Some other points to consider: I was impressed for a city centre hotel to advertise a car park but it fails to mention that there is a £15 charge per night which is also first come first served it is a very slight negligible difference to what I may have paid in a nearby multi storey however. Secondly I only booked a standard room but tend to agree with others the rooms are very tired and dated (separate toilet and bath/shower which screams 1960s) the room was tidy but not particularly clean, one of the cups was still dirty, and marks on the bedsheets, as though housekeeping had been told to change the linen any clean as quickly as possible and maybe corners cut? There is also no air conditioning and our first night as with other guests was particularly hot even with the window open. Use of a desktop fan made the 2nd night a little more comfortable but still warm and obviously you have to put up with the nightlife noise! The breakfast buffet was one of the better positives but even on our 1st morning it was full of guests and staff didn’t seem able to keep up with replacing food items, although this were explained by apparently a member of staff not having turned up. Finally the leisure facilities were another bonus but be aware of the booking system as there is an 8 person limit in the pool - it is also on the ground floor and in my opinion should have frosted windows to stop local vagrants looking at you in your swimming costume.

The male receptionist was excellent. He sorted us out even though it was still 14.50 and 10 minutes before we really could. He also sorted out breakfast the next day for us. The room was ok. However there was debris on the floor from the previous occupant. (A hair clip) and also some rubbish (a part ripped off the tea bag) All was under a chair and clearly visible as soon as you walked into the room so why the cleaner had not spotted it??? Well I have no idea. The breakfast was decent. However no one could find the butter as it was not near the bread or toaster. The pot for the beans and hash browns were both empty and we had to get the staff to replenish them as they seemed oblivious to this fact.
