We have been coming to the Novotel at least once a year for the past 8 years for hockey games. The staff are for the most part friendly. The food in the restaurant is awful, and the bar hours are dreadful, it closes far too early.

This is one of the best Novotel hotels; elegant, particularly the foyer, and friendly. We had terrific service from Sonika (reception) throughout the booking process to arrival. The hotel is located centrally and a few minutes walk to downtown Toronto. Our room was spacious and well appointed and as it was our wedding anniversary the day of our arrival, we were treated to a complimentary bottle of wine and macaroons; a nice touch. The restaurant and bar is first class, with an extensive menu and the r staff were brilliant; professional and friendly. There are plenty of great bars and restaurants restaurants opposite the hotel. We could not fault this hotel

Entrance initially underwhelming (no wow factor) but room and customer service was excellent

I will add that the accorhotel user experience was clunky. Several times it took very long time to load and did not know if hotel rooms were available or not. That was buggy. The hotel experience was great and would definitely recommend.

The hotel overall was very nice but the beds in the room were very uncomfortable and only double beds, for the price we paid I found that way overpriced. Who still uses double bed?, the room was big enough for queen beds.

Prior to my arrival, I spoke to manager Mathew and although suite room was not available he was kind enough to allocate the top floor room for me. Thank you. Service of the restaurant for dinner was excellent though they do not provide discount for Platinum member like other accor hotel nor free breakfast. Check in and out staffs was good. Thank you.

The room was fine for my one-night stay. But the service (more precisely, the lack of service) in the hotel restaurant was not satisfactory.

My check was easy and quick which I very much appreciate but the person serving me didn’t smile at all and seemed unhappy to serve me, it felt like I was a bit of a both.. I can’t see why.. there were no issues with my check in. It was not very welcoming. I ordered food for delivery and when it arrived the person at the front desk called me on the phone and seemed quite annoyed at me. A bit rude. The service over all that evening didn’t make me feel very welcome at the hotel. The room was good, the bed was very confortable. Service at check out was better. There was a lot of cold air coming from the window area, I had to turn the heat up higher than I typically would. I appreciated the on site fitness centre and the sustainable amenities in the room. I found the room noisy, I could here neighbours.

The hotel is lovely, and I am glad to see all of the environmentally friendly initiatives. However, one of these should not be the recycled toilet paper and tissues you stock in your rooms. However, the worst thing about my stay was finding a long curly black hair (mine is medium brown) in my bed on the first night. On night two, I suspected my sheets had not been changed because I had accidentally spilled coffee on them in the morning and there was still a stain on them that night. The rest of the room was fine, but this marred an otherwise pleasant stay.
