Breakfast room is under renovation so a small buffet was set up throughout the lobby and bar area. The selection was not the normal Novotel one but even far below a 2* Ibis standard. Difficult to find space (even after the normal busy hours). Had to find some non-brand orange juice to pour from a carton. No boiled eggs. Hot buffet almost nonexistent. No yogurt, 2 cereals only (think supermarket C brand types). But a fridge full of oatmeal milk cartons, good for those who drink that. When I asked about all this, I was told to speak to the manager. Who was not around and probably couldn’t be bothered as the excuse would no doubt be that this was only temporary. That may be but this was an absolute failure. I had stayed here a couple of times before but this was the last one. If I want 2* Ihis quality I will book an Ibis at an Ibis price.

Great location and good security with lifts etc not being able to be accessed without your room card. Staff very friendly and helpful however not sure why since I had booked a late checkout that my key was deactivated at 11. Just a little thing but at $300 euros a night it’s those little things that make the difference. What was annoying and no mention was made before arriving, is that the restaurant was not open when I visited, which was a major disappointment and the works which were said not to start until 9am started at 8.20 on the Tuesday morning.

It was nice. A bit robotic. Like. Oh you are gold. Here are a couple of cookies. Reception staff weren’t overly friendly. Maybe it was an English language thing.

I had a great experience at Novotel Brussels off Grand Place, the location is great, only a few minutes away from Grand Place and from the Central Station, which makes transportation easier. The room is very nice, enough space, comfortable beds and clean bathroom. Overall, a great hotel.
