Good...but small

The bed was comfortable, the rooms seemed fairly quiet and the view was quite nice. Breakfast looked good (we didn't have it) and the self service shop was really useful. As with all modern hotels, you need to swipe your card (key) in the lift to use it, which seems mildly annoying but not a big point. The hotel is well situated, about 10 minutes walk from the Grand Place, which means it's also only a short walk to less touristy parts of Brussels. The reason I can't give 5 stars is because the room was just too cramped; the door only just opens against the bed and the shower room is so small, it's a bit difficult to use. I'm sure there are larger people than us for whom this could be quite a problem. If we stayed again, I would contact the hotel in advance to check the size of the space - particular the shower room - you're being allocated.

I was robbed right in front of the door of the Ibis Hotel. Asked the staff to call the police. However, they said the police won't come anyway and I had to go to the police myself. At that time I was distressed and trying to do everything I could to block my cards. The same thieves tried to rob another customer. After that attempt they thought it was "much" and signaled it to the police. The same thieves were spotted around the hotel on another night. In that case (a different staff) called the police. The police came in minutes. So the police "not coming" was a lie. If they were in the neightbourhood, and if the hotel staff acted quickly they may have caught them, and I may have not lost this much. This is a clear lack of humanity, compassion and work ethic. I cannot recommend your horrible work ethics to anyone.
