1. In our room the shower drained very slowly and after a shower the water was almost onto the floor. My wife had to wait almost 15 minutes after my shower to allow the water to clear to have hers. Again the drain allowed the water to accumulate. 2. Checkout was extremely slow with a very large lineup. I waited 20 min as wanted to inform the staff of the shower problem and to give my card for points as I have started to stay at Fairmount hotels. At times during this period there were only 2 people performing checkout, with what looked like the manager joining occasionally. After 20 minutes and with still 5 people ahead of me I left the line to go have breakfast with my family. After breakfast I again lined up but again after 15 min of the line progressing very slowly left the line and deposited keys in check-out box. 3. The hotel itself seemed tired with the carpet seeming to need repairs or replacement. On our floor there was stitching missing on the carpeting near the elevator. Having stayed at many 4 and 5 stars hotel this one seemed lacking and disaapinting. The heritage was there but it looked tired. I will be staying at the Fairmount in Ottawa, Quebec City and Montebello next week and hope to have better experiences.
