We had a lovely stay in the Gold Floor. We skipped a very long line in the main lobby and were met with care and attention by Gold Floor staff. We received some lovely recommendations for dinner. We truly appreciated the live music on Saturday evening. The musician was very good and it allowed us to have a night out without needing to leave the hotel in a rain storm. My only issue came on the day of my checkout. I had taken my bag and jacket upstairs with me to have breakfast and when I came back down to the room one last time before leaving my room was already being cleaned. This was only 10 AM I would have appreciated being notified given that check out is noon.

The majority staff were really lovely and so helpful. The restaurants and bars were very good although Reign was dreadfully cold with fierce air conditioning! The room was comfortable with an excellent walk in shower although the water temperature was very hard to regulate as it kept changing during the shower - I did report this on departure. The bed was rather too soft for our liking and squeaked when you sat on it! This particular Fairmont is very large and it was extremely busy.

Anniversary weekend, received complimentary wine, clean linens and complimentary champagne after dinner.

It is a beautiful historic hotel. Had many amenities and the staff was very kind! We slept well in our room, and it seemed to be renovated. At check in we were upgraded to a room with a king size bed. My only issue is the deposit refund has been taking quite some time to make it back to my account. It has almost been a week since check out and it still has not arrived.

My mom and I have stayed at the Fairmont Royal York a number of times. It’s consistently wonderful (staff, rooms, service). Also, it’s located across from Union Station making exploring Toronto very convenient.

The hotel was conveniently located to transit options, and the beds were comfortable. Water pressure was a bit odd and clunky. Food options were a bit limited (meaning that they seemed repetitive at the various establishments)

Despite a significant flight delay resulting in a 2:00 AM arrival, the late check-in process was efficiently handled by the lobby staff. The room provided was satisfactory, and its location was ideal. However, the presence of hair strands in the bathtub suggested a potential oversight in the cleaning process. While this detracted from the overall experience, it did not significantly impact my stay as I opted not to utilize the bathtub. Overall, the experience was positive.

Had a wonderful stay living in the heart of Toronto

Chose the hotel because of its location to Union Station - perfect for what I needed.

We treated ourselves to a few nights at the Fairmont Royal York. It’s so easy to get to and from the airport with the train station across the street. The lobby is lively with lots of options to sit for a drink and great food. Our room was stunning with a very comfortable bed and special touches left out to ensure we felt welcome. The Gold lounge is beautiful and calm with friendly helpful staff. We look forward to another getaway here again!

The location could not have been better. Food and drinks a bit pricey. Staff was excellent. Great stay overall.

I had a stay booked at a rental apartment when I decided to extend my visit. The owners could not accommodate me, so I looked online for alternatives. Without a vehicle, I was searching for somewhere convenient to Toronto’s Union Station. The Fairmont Royal York is the most convenient for travelling and tourists whether arriving by plane or train. It is situated right on Front Street across from the station. With attentive staff at the front doors, all the way in through to reception and beyond, the experience is sublime. With an 10 am checkout from the apartment rental, I approached Reception a couple of days before hand, about completing an early check in and storing my bags as I would be gone for the day to a festival not returning until near midnight. The reception was phenomenal and on the day I was changing accommodations, I received a text from Jerico at ~730 am indicating that my room was available. This was outstanding. It allowed me to settle in a bit, have a coffee and prepare for the festival. I was helped with my bags up the stairs and Jerico had me with keys in hand within minutes of arrival. The room was clean, pleasantly decorated, and stocked with every regular need. It was also serviced by Emily in housekeeping. Emily provided outstanding service, and even saved the day on Sunday, as somehow my key would not open the door. I sought out help and Emily came to the rescue recognizing both me and my room number, which allowed me entry to my room to get ready until things could be sorted out. With a reservation for Afternoon Tea at Clockworks, time was of the essence. Afternoon Tea provided delicious sweet and savory options with comfortable seating. I found service interesting, considering the costs, and addressed my concerns directly with staff. I hope that it was truly a one off and not reflective of their usual service. Having said that, room service was excellent - and the service delivery matched the food. A last stop with a friend at the Library Bar for cocktails really rounded out the weekend with an impressive experience of food and drink. Sebastian, tending bar while training another generation of bartenders, was remarkable. His attention to detail, knowledge of cocktails and wines, entertaining chatter left us both commenting on the “complete experience” the Royal York provides. The amenities are premium given the age of the hotel, with renovations balancing the old with the new. I took advantage of the pool and sauna, and found myself able to enjoy a book in the quiet of the space. As a BC resident, I have stayed at the Fairmonts in Vancouver, Whistler, and The Empress in Victoria, the service and amenities at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is in line with the Fairmont brand and in instances, far superior to previous experiences - which is saying a lot. I highly recommend a stay at the Fairmont as an experience for any tourist to Toronto. If affordability for a full stay is questionable, definitely take part in a meal or having drinks in their wonderful restaurants and lounges.

I was very frustrated with the lengthy queue for check-in - both myself and several other guests remarked that it is the slowest check-in process for any luxury hotel we have booked. While I appreciate the attention paid to each guest, perhaps additional staffing should considered during peak check-in time so that guests are not left standing in a queue for 30+ minutes. I was extremely please with the warm welcome afforded to my 5 year old son. He was given a small plushie, activity book, and crayons, which was a wonderful touch and one of his highlights of our stay downtown.

I was at the hotel for a week with RBC for work, and my partner joined me for two nights so we could celebrate our anniversary. As we were traveling from Vancouver, this was an important occasion for us, and I chose the Fairmont based on the level of service and experience I’ve had at your Vancouver and Richmond properties—particularly Fairmont Gold, which my partner truly enjoys. Unfortunately, our experience during this stay was disappointing across several occasions. Upon arrival, there were no bell staff available to assist with our luggage, and we had to bring everything in ourselves. We also requested fresh water and towels, which were never delivered. Later that evening, after confirming with the front desk that it was acceptable, we ordered Uber Eats to be left at the front desk. We fell asleep shortly after, and when we called down, we were given the runaround before eventually being told the order could not be found. When we came downstairs ourselves, we learned the entire order—including unopened beverages—had been thrown away. While I understand there may be policies regarding unattended food, this was especially frustrating given we had called ahead and received confirmation. More concerning, however, was how the situation was handled. The staff we dealt with were dismissive and unhelpful, rather than attempting to resolve the issue. I had also reached out regarding a possible upgrade to Fairmont Gold for our anniversary. Unfortunately, there was little effort made to assist or accommodate this request, which was disappointing given the significance of the occasion and my previous positive experiences with your brand. After raising my concerns, Shannon from your team did send a bottle of wine and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was appreciated, and mentioned that Solon from management would be reaching out. However, no one followed up during the remaining four nights of my stay. At checkout, I spoke with the front desk manager only after bringing up my experience myself. While Anjali was apologetic, there was no meaningful effort made to address or rectify the situation despite multiple service failures throughout the stay. This also included a lack of assistance with luggage upon departure, as no help was offered. Anjali later sent a follow-up email on Thursday to apologize again. I responded with a question regarding clarification on my bill, and to date, I have not received any reply. Overall, this was not the level of service I expected, particularly given the importance of the occasion and the length of my stay. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further and understand what can be done to address these concerns. Overall, very disappointed with the lack of service and care along with how this was handled, considering I was asked about my stay and the experience I had to make it look like the team cares however actions showed otherwise.

Staff was exceptional, from reception over housekeeping to concierge, bell boys and everyone I interacted with. Checked in early but room was not ready till late - never received text to confirm. Rooms are clean, nothing extraordinary but also no complaints.

Short.really didn have time to enjoy the amenities. The room was small but ok.

Admittedly I did not have ID with me. However I had my reservation, matching credit card, photos on my phone of my ID, credit cards in my name on my phone... literally anything else that you could think of. However in accordance with policy I was not permitted to check in. Luckily while sitting on the curb outside of the hotel while trying to figure out what to do next, I bumped into a colleague who ultimately booked a room under his name which I stayed in. The room given was not the same category as I'd booked. Apparently that category was no longer available??????????? Talk about customer service...... TIME TO REINTRODUCE DISCRETION AND COMMON SENSE

Everyone was very accommodating and nice. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for our room. Then it smelled like a cigar which was overbearing.
