Disappointing welcome. When we arrived around 7 pm there was nobody appearing at the reception after clinging the bell for 5 minutes. People were waiting, restaurant personnel could not help and didn’t know where the receptionist was. After she finally appeared, everything went smoothly. Good bed and shower, parking fine.

We were thoroughly disappointed by our stay. One of the bedrooms had a really bad tobacco smell. The mattresses were small, old and uncomfortable and so was the pillow. The room was a little tired. Very disappointed as past experiences with Ibis were a lot different, better.

Lovely hotel close to the centre of Bourges. We used the hotel as a one night stop over when driving home from a holiday in northern Spain. Free parking was available close to the hotel. The room was clean and perfect for us. The buffet breakfast in the morning was plentiful and delicious. In the evening we made the short walk into the city where there were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from for evening dinner. Thoroughly recommended.

The air con was on full blast (there was a heatwave in France) and the room didn’t get cool, it seems the air con didn’t work as the thermostat didn’t get below 25 degrees! The bed had a mattress cover that’s was a bit plasticky so it made you feel sticky. Appreciated the cold fruit infused water in reception on arrival but didn’t see it again the next day!

A pleasant stay. Reception was very professional and pleased to see younger members of staff receiving training. The bar and restaurant staff were lovely, recommending local wine to go with our lovely well cooked and presented meal. We were a little concerned when we initially arrived at the hotel and parked the car, as there were a lot of small children using the car park to ride their bikes and scooters around and between the cars. A member of staff came out of the hotel to speak to the children and in all fairness there was no damage to the cars. THe hotel is located not far out of the centre of Bourges and a tourist map can be picked up from reception which indicates all the local sites. The room was very comfortable and clean and was very welcome after a fairly long drive and a high number of steps around the town.
