Everything was excellent except for the check-in and check-out experience. My family and I are currently travelling by Interrail, and when we arrived at and departed from the hotel with our backpacks, the same receptionist looked down on us so obviously that it felt as though we didn’t belong in this hotel. Later, after we had changed into smarter clothes, his attitude was completely different. Our suite (319) was excellent, and we were extremely happy with it. I personally couldn’t find a single thing to complain about. My wife, however, felt that the bathroom lighting was far too dim for applying makeup. The sauna and wellness area was very pleasant. Breakfast was superb, with the exception of the coffee. We simply prefer traditionally brewed filter coffee over coffee from a machine. One thing that always surprises us in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is the lack of fresh vegetables at breakfast. Fresh lettuce, thinly sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and similar items are usually missing altogether. The bar was excellent, and the bartender of Serbian background was outstanding. We had a fascinating discussion about future sparkling wine trends. Even though we held opposing views, the conversation was genuinely enjoyable and thought-provoking. We were also very impressed by the hotel’s commitment to contemporary art.
