No lake view but modern, clean, & convenient to train

Two years ago, I wrote a pretty scathing review of this hotel on this site because it was listed as having a lake view, but there are no rooms with lake views. They still don't have any lake views, but they've updated their site to remove the descriptive language that said it did. With my expectations tempered, I still booked again because of the hotel's modern style & its' convenient yet quiet location next to the train station from which I arrived. This time, I booked an executive room (top floor with balcony overlooking the park-like setting & the Festspielhaus). While the room was nice, I wouldn't book it again as the rate was much higher for very little added benefit; a standard room would be sufficient for my needs. I also booked breakfast which was convenient (there are extremely few places for breakfast provisions nearby), & breakfast was OK but nothing special for the price; you're paying for convenience. Note that hotel rates seem to increase significantly on those summer nights when there are musical performances next door at the Festspielhaus or outdoors at the adjacent theater. Nevertheless, given the lack of other nearby accommodations, I'd stay here again when visiting the lovely Bregenz sea.

This hotel is well located right next to the Bregenz train station a. a stone’s throw from the Seebühne a. lake. We received a warm welcome at check-in a. from the manager as he walked by. The bed in our executive room was very comfortable a. enabled us to get a great night’s sleep. Our room a. the hotel were clean a. well maintained. We had breakfast at the hotel on our last day a. nothing was too much trouble for the lovely woman with the dark hair who was always attentive a. friendly. She did a great job in managing the younger staff who were also friendly a. eager to please.
