Very pleasant welcome at the front desk, but a couple of surprising experiences with the bar staff. As I am a ALL gold member, we received vouchers for free drinks, but when we tried to use them on our first evening, the barman explained that the vouchers did not cover cocktails. This could have been made clearer when the vouchers were given to us. On our second evening, we again ordered drinks from the bar (glasses of wine and soft drinks) but were told that we "should have indicated beforehand" that we wanted to use our vouchers when it was time to pay. The barman was quite stressed and claimed he would get "intro trouble" if he accepted the vouchers, but we insisted that was how we wanted to settle the check. He went away and obviously discussed it with someone as he came back about 15 minutes later, quite relieved to tell us we could indeed settle the bar bill with the vouchers. This is a ridiculous situation; that the free drink that is supposed to make your most regular customers feel welcome is managed in such a way. Either make it clearer how the vouchers can be used or train your staff better. Otherwise the stay was fine, the hotel is very well situated, but the pool is very small and the rooms need refurbishing.

Rooms need a refurbishment - carpet stained and aircon did not work properly. Kettle in rooms but no tea and coffee. Bathrooms have been refurbished but no shampoo or conditioner Breakfast area too small for the number of people

We have booked a superior room at Mercure Hotel in Vichy. The room is aging, with some stains on the carpet. We have paid 16 euros per person for breakfast, quite expensive compared to what we expect for this price. Not good quality/price ratio

Arrived to a warm room on a warm day . Thought about leaving the air on while eating out. Came back to the same , too late to swap. When to the reception to ask for a fan . Used the fan and had to sleep with the window open . Not relaxing on a road trip through France. One small water left for 2 pax ... hotel location is the main selling point , staff is doing what they can ... very poor value for money .

We expected our stay to be on a par with our many stays in the pastI In many respects it was but our sixth floor room was very hot and the air conditioning fan noisy. We switched the Air Conditioning in the room off and opened the window. We then had to contend with the noise from the extractors on the roof which was worse than the noise in the room.Not a Hotel to use in warm/hot weather.

We again enjoyed our stay in this well located hotel.It is dog friendly and has on site car parking which have great advantage for us.A good dinner was enjoyed as was breakfast.The staff were efficient and welcoming. As has been previously commented by us and others the hotel rooms are very tired and dinghy and are in need of refurbishment very much so!

Hotel and surrounds were lovely. No issues with facilities. Reception was very enthusiastic and helpful but also incredibly busy No welcome drink or acknowledgement of membership with Accor. Thought we might have a massage or treatment at spa - either attached to an accomodation package or extremely overpriced for very short period of treatment. Difficult to locate using car GPS. Street frontage as address on navi is not signposted. Drove around very small streets in busy town searching

Very difficult to find using navi in small streets of busy city. Access to spa treatments limited without a package - could he far better advertised or have better offers. No acknowledgement of gold membership - complimentary drink not offered nor anything else to promote accor. Gentleman on reception at arrival was great.

Stayed for 5 nights in this hotel which is really excellently situated. However inside it is a total disaster. Old walls, old furniture, non working air condition. It was a real hell.

The rooms are quite old fashioned with floor to ceiling artex. The carpet was stained in quite a lot of places. The window dressing needs attention and the aircon could be improved. Breakfast was hit and miss, they had a very small hot plate for everyone with scrambled eggs in one and bacon and sausages in another the hotel was pretty full due to the Ironman weekend and that was not sufficient for the whole hotel. When staff were notified that things had run out it was up to 10 minutes before they were replenished and if you didn’t see them do it you had to wait again.

It was ok. We were looked after enough. Although, couldn't eat by the pool but could outside in front of carpark!? The room cleaning lady came in twice while i was sleeping when i clearly had the Do Not Disturb sign on. Then i had 2 phone calls with no one on the end- clearly to see if i was in my room!
