Hotel that needs an urgent "facelift" both outside and inside

The hotel needs to be renovated both inside and outside. The rooms need a total remake. The carpets are stained on several places, disgusting! The breakfast is not fresh, cold cuts very unfresh. No fresh bread. Only one type of bread. Burnt bacon and a scrambled eggs with no taste. This is not a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing. Luckily all the Mercure hotels are not like this one. Staff without a smile when checking in. No we will not return to this hotel.

Mostly as expected .Room good and comfortable but poor lighting levels. Dinner was disappointing. We both chose the "Veal "liver but found it overcooked and that it was in fact BEEF Liver and in consequence had a harsh flavour and not as listed and certainly not VEAL !!. We brought this to the attention of the Reataurant Manager who was very dismissive and very argumentative.He possibly needs retrang and disciplinary action!! Not what one needs nor expects as guests and paying customers who stay here quite frequently

We booked a privilege room but we were put in a standard room. I went to reception and was told I had booked standard room. I challenged this and told all privilege rooms taken, but realising their mistake and without admitting it offered to bring a coffee machine to the room!! I was still charged the rate for a privilege room! The room was small and the bathroom smaller than a privilege room. The air conditioning is NON EXISTENT and therefore the room is baking hot unless the window is open; it is very difficult to regulate. We had dinner and that was good as was the wine at a very agreeable price. The breakfast had good choices (hot food was well prepared). Staff were very friendly and mostly extremely helpful. The thing that really let the visit down was being fobbed off with an inferior room and paying the price of a superior room.

Hotel needs refurbishing, feels old and weary. Carpets and room cleanliness is dubious - they changed room, it was a bit better. Glad it was only one night. On a more positive note, the staff is good.

Aircon did not work - blew out hot air. Had to sleep with the balcony door wide open - traffic noise and insects. Told receptionist in the morning - she already seemed to know the aircon was broken and was generally uninterested.

Air con was broken - blowing out hot air. Room was too hot to sleep. Had to sleep with balcony door wide open and therefore curtains open. Was bright from outside light and noisy from traffic. Reported to receptionist in the morning who seemed uninterested in our discomfort. She also commented that she knew it was a problem. Disgusted that you would rent rooms not fit for purpose

The hotel is well situated, clean and the staff were friendly, so that's all positive. No issues with the hot water (so often a problem in an older hotel), although the aircon was noisy and not that effective, or easy to set. So no great issues, but for the price the hotel is definitely showing its' age - and not in a good way. Clearly it is well maintained (no peeling paint / wallpaper), but it desperately needs an upgrade / refurbishment.

We booked this Hotel as it is midway on a long Drive through France, on arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist it what must be one of the hotel chains flagship hotels, very clean and situated in the heart of a beautiful City, it was a great shame for us as we only had time to stay for one night, but we are already planning our next trip and will for sure book this hotel without a doubt for a longer stay, if you happen to be driving the carpark is right out front, secure and only Cost €8 for our short stay, See you next year and thank you for welcoming us to a beautiful City.

Centrally located in Vichy. If you stay one night, it is OK and acceptable. Breakfast croissants were very good. Sleeping Quality as per Mercure standard. However the hotel looks torn and not well maintained. What is not acceptable: Like many mid-scale Accor Hotels, water is saved by reducing water pressure so much, that almost no water is coming out of the shower handle. This results in 3x longer shower time for you to get shampoo out of your hair. Water saving made the wrong way. I had to take of the shower handle. At least I had then an acceptable amount of water coming out of the hose. What I don't understand is why so many hotels do the same, as soon as you stay in a Sofitel, you have proper water pressure. Is there a rule that only luxury hotels are allowed to provide a good shower experience at Accor?

One night on my way back home after my holidays. Excellent localization of the hotel right downtown, very nice people welcoming me at my arrival and departure. I think some improvements could be made in the room (carpet & overall decoration for a 4 stars standard.

We again enjoyed our stay in this well located hotel.It is dog friendly and has on site car parking which have great advantage for us.A good dinner was enjoyed as was breakfast.The staff were efficient and welcoming. As has been previously commented by us and others the hotel rooms are very tired and dinghy and are in need of refurbishment very much so!

Very difficult to find using navi in small streets of busy city. Access to spa treatments limited without a package - could he far better advertised or have better offers. No acknowledgement of gold membership - complimentary drink not offered nor anything else to promote accor. Gentleman on reception at arrival was great.

At time of booking we requested a room in a quiet location. We were situated at the back of the hotel overlooking the pool. Unfortuantely this side of the building was used for deliveries woken up by a lorry 4.45am and this continued until before we left. No toiletries available in room: body lotion, conditioner, shampoo no face cloths. Hotel was old and needed lots of money spending refurbishing, Air con didnt work effectively. Wouldn't recommend expected more from a Mecure.

Howfull sleep , materess hard as rock, huge time to refresh the place , paints must be more than 25 years ,however b'fast was ok , morning working staff cool and prevenant ! I will not get back to this place for sure !
