Every year we travel by car once or twice from Prague to Spain with our cats, and on the way back we make an evening in the area. This year we tried this hotel for the first time and we were delighted with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the breakfast was fantastic and the rooms were comfortable and big. We decided to make it permanent stop on our future travels.

We arrived around midnight, the night between Saturday 3 January and Sunday 4 January 2026. The receptionist could not do the check in because he said the computer was not working and he didn't even check our passports. He just gave us the keys of our two double rooms and told us that the check in could be made on the following day. To be noted that we are a family of four and our rooms were very far away one another. Since this was very inconvenient for us, we asked to have two rooms adjacent but the receptionist denied our request, saying the hotel was completely full, so the rooms could not be rearranged. On the following day (Sunday 4 January) I went to the receptionist (not the same of the previous night) to do the check in, and the receptionist said that the check in had alreday been made and that the rooms already paid. This sounded really wrong because I had never done the check in and, on top of this, I had never paid for the rooms. So I asked to check and the receptionist said that the amound due for the rooms had alreday been charged to my credit card withount asking me anything! I was shoked for this. No one can charge anything to my credit card without my consent. The recptionist admitted the mistake and provided a refound. Then I covered the payment with the card I actually wanted to use to pay. This is the first time I have this issue with one of the Accor ALL hotels, where I usually stay on a biweekly basis, so I was really surprised to see this behaviour by the recptionists. On top of this issue with the payment, I have to admit that the hotel structure was in general disappointing. Rooms are big but the hotel is old, the floor carpet in the rooms is dirty (stained), the breakfast offer is quite poor. Last but nit least, the hotel sign NOVOTEL placed on top of the building is not visible at night (maybe it should be illuminated?) so we had to carefully follow goolgle maps until the very end to be able to find the hotel. Not a great presentation for the guests.

There were no elevators, and we were set in a room on the first floor with the need to bring up and down a stroller each time we entered and left the hotel.

I have two remarks: - The bed for the kids wasn’t set up correctly. When the youngest kid wanted to climb up the bed, it fell down. Luckily noone was hurt, but it was a scare! I could fix it myself, but pay more attention. - The breakfast was chaotic. There was not enough space for everyone to sit, and the personel couldn’t handle so many people at the same time. We will still book Novotel Hotels, but this was not the service we are used to get.

The people were nice but the hotel it is old and the bar/restaurant was very poor. There were just one plate in a menu of 5 choices.
