All of the staff that we encountered seemed to be aither trainees or retired. The reception desk was manned my some puppy who was unable to complete my reservation even though he had managed to find my Email address in his system. In the end I had to reserve myself using the AllAccor app. That's where my problems started as I gave them my credit card details. To cut a very long story short, they overcharged my by over €60. After 10 days I still have an open dispute with them. To date, all thay have asked me to do is give them information that I have previously supplied.

Check in was fast enough, no problems. Went to to bar to have a cool beer on tap, was served some thing like flat water… no head on the the beer the bar staff thought this was normal, explained to her this was not correct, just looked at it and then told us there was no draught beer. Order to bottled beer to be given two dirty glasses. We had decided to eat in the hotel didn’t want to drive more that day, with regrets serving staff were a joke…..we don’t think they had any training at all, didn’t seem to be any manager around. Waited 45 min for the main course. Just a very unorganized staff In the morning was told that exprès breakfast was served till 12.00 (hot drink, juice, croissant) went at 10.30 and told they had finished serving….. every thing was still on display. After discussion got or drinks and croissants. Had prepaid the the room and express breakfast on the company website to be told at checkout that only the room was paid for. Unfortunately did not have my computer handy and was in hurry could not prove it then, but have checked since and I had paid for breakfast. Just proves the staff need some real training. Would I stay at the Mercure again No Way

The hotel staff were friendly, and the room was fine. - but the restaurant meal was extremely frugal to say the least, the rump steak measured literally 3 cms x 4 cms , and between 2 to three 3 cms high. It looked like it had been trimmed off the end of a different cut. Ordered medium but arrived well done, served with a spoonful of mixed fried cubed vegetables. My wife’s starter of grilled leeks etc - was served pre prepared straight from the storage fridge , even the plate was cold. Boarding school food was better. The waiting staff seemed to think it was amusing. If we ever stay here again we will bring our own food.

Very very basic accommodation - even for Mercure - and this was a "privilege" room. In desperate need of refurbishment for the 21st Century. Room also had a terrible damp smell and was tiny for even a solo traveller. Disappointing. On the positive side. Good location next to autoroute for a speedy escape and good parking. Breakfast unremarkable. Juices were not fresh and tasted like from a carton as based on concentrate. All staff very friendly. But hotel needs serious financial investment and refurbishment.
