We hosted our third live music festival at the hotel this year. Having had two excellent previous events, it was no surprise to find that things were nothing other than ‘perfect’. One of our guests even told us that it was the best hotel for food and associated service that he’d ever been to! This from someone who used to run a catering/events venue. Our events manager Beth was just amazing as always and every single one of the staff went above and beyond to deliver the perfect the level of service. Great to hear that bedroom updates will probably ensue in the coming months, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the current rooms. We have run similar events in 4* hotels around the length and breadth of England, but I strongly feel that Fairfield Manor is very much at the pinnacle of the great hotels flagpole!

A sequence of events. You decide. Arrived to check in. All good, was given a keycard. Went to the room. Turned out to be the room next to the wedding. As in the room with a wall joined to the evening wedding party. Went to reception to discuss. They advised they try to allocate non wedding guests as far away from the wedding as possibly. Replied that there literally isn’t a room in the hotel which is closer to the wedding than ours. *shrugs* Was told there were literally no other rooms apart from one which had been blocked off due to a loud fan. We said we would try it. Went to the room, decided that we would rather wait 4 hours for the wedding the finish than stay with the loud fan. On our return to reception a new room had magically appeared. A triple with 3 single beds. Not ideal as a couple on a night away but at this point seemed the best option. Issues with this room include the kettle not working, the bathroom door being locked and others which resulted in another 3 trips to reception. Advised the best they could do was a ‘free drink Will update this review if the morning offers any notion of recompense ’

Half of the Sraff are brilliant. Breakfast is superb. A buffet with hot food that is hot. Ganesh is superb. I'm Visually Impaired using a white cane. Ganesh is accessibility through and through. I felt so welcomed. Cleaning is patchy. Wasn't done one night inspite of request. Toiletries gifted by hotel are just thrown in a heap. Ladies on Reception are perfection. John sent us a rude curt email. A bit of training needed. Bluebadge parking. Ample parking. Conference events make it noisy on the ground floor first thing in the morning.

We appreciate your honest feedback, which is invaluable in helping us improve our services. Last minute booking at a lovely hotel just outside York. Very reasonably priced with a lovely breakfast. We were upgraded to a suit which was very much appreciated. The hotel was very busy that weekend with Revolution Dance so standard rooms were booked up. The room was lovely and so were the staff and the breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
