Awful. Have been coming here for many years but had the worst experience this time. Came with my 13 year old to escape Christmas as my husband, her dad, has recently passed away. We wanted to spend Christmas Eve- Boxing Day swimming and relaxing. I specifically checked that the pool would be open and was reassured that it would be. However, on arrival we were told that "to save money" the pool would now be closed until Boxing Day! There was nothing else to do except a short walk around the grounds (which are beautiful) or watch TV which was all Christmas shows that we wanted to avoid. So we sat cooped up in a freezing cold room (even after we asked for a heater- it made no impact). We knew the first Christmas without hubby would be incredibly painful but we had our plan to make it as gentle as possible. Your decision to save a bit money affected us more than you will ever know. The room was tired and walls were so thin we could literally hear the conversations of the very sweary couple next door, not nice for my daughter or for me. Bed was comfortable and staff polite and friendly

Bedrooms (could do with updating the doors) and restaurant ok but pool area VERY tired and disabled changing room/shower/toilet was disgusting

Very friendly staff and great location with a quick drive into Maidstone and to Leeds Castle. Room was ok, very clean and we asked to stay in the refurbished area so not too dated. There were no plugs by the bedside which was very odd. Also the whole building is very dated as is some of the decor. Our room was also very very warm when we first arrived.
