Great location, close to train station and 10 min walk into town. Very soundproof rooms. Comfortable. Family of 4 in a family room and the sofa beds were surprisingly comfortable. Staff very friendly and approachable. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food, but perfect for a one night stay.

A perfectly functional hotel in a good location, but one that's definitely showing its age. The bed was quite possibly the squeakiest I've ever slept in, with every movement resulting in another creak. The shower was another frustration, with the design of the door allowing water to escape onto the bathroom floor every time it was used. The bar was surprisingly disappointing for a hotel of this size. Despite being fully stocked, the choice felt very limited. The house wine was unpleasant enough that we couldn't finish it, and the Bristol cider was rather earthy for our tastes. With so little else appealing on offer, we didn't bother trying anything further. The building itself isn't particularly attractive, and while the interior is better than the exterior might suggest, it's still very dated. The gym was well equipped but could do with a sign on the elevator to show where it is. That said, the staff were good, everything was generally well maintained, and I got the impression that the hotel is being run as well as it can be given the building they're working with. Ultimately, it ticked the boxes for a city centre stay without excelling in any particular area. It feels long overdue a proper refurbishment to bring it up to modern Novotel standards. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with the hotel, but it's difficult to overlook just how tired it feels.

Your 3rd floor stinks, the room I was given stinks (331) my floor was damp? Your beds are super uncomfortable. It’s mainly the pillows. Your bathrooms are out of date and smell. And it feels dirty. Also I have been here multiple times and there is always an issue with the showers. Other floors seems to be a bit better but you keep putting me on the smelly floor. Staff were lovely this trip and very helpful. I work at the other side of the road, it’s the only reason I keep booking it

I found Novotel, Bristol to be right choice for my solo trip. It was perfectly located for the trains station and airport bus and a very short walk to the best parts of the city centre. The highlight was the vegetarian friendly breakfast (good veggie sausages are rare in a breakfast buffet). Also The Kings Head pub next door was lovely. Lowlights were the extractor fan not working in the bathroom, the squeaky bed and carpet and furniture being stained. Theres are all things I could live with.

We had booked into our room 206 earlier and put the heating on so the room was warmer on our return. The room was still feeling chilly and noticed the air flow was cold whatever number it was out on. I called reception and the guy came to the room and said there was no heating and suggest he could bring more bedding like a blanket for us which he did and it helped. But a small heater would been better and maybe there wasnt one available.? The reception staff did apologise the next morning.
