Warm weather, breathtaking beaches, and restaurants bursting with local flavours are just some of the reasons to visit Noosa.

Located on Australia’s famous Sunshine Coast is the charming and ever-popular township of Noosa, a beloved destination that attracts up to two million visitors each year.

While Noosa and beaches go hand in hand, this gem has even more to offer than surf and sand. From an awe-inspiring national park to a bustling market scene, there are plenty of things to do in Noosa.

Discover the top landmarks, activities, and eateries that make this Sunshine Coast destination so special.

1. Bask in the Beauty of Noosa’s Beaches

Noosa is renowned for its beaches, so be sure to take advantage of this stunning coastline. Whether you’re wanting to surf, swim, or practise some early morning yoga, Noosa Heads Main Beach is a must-stop for your journey – regardless of the season.

If sun and sand is your priority, make sure you stop by some of Noosa’s other beaches, too. Five minutes from Main Beach is Little Cove Beach, with a lower tide and more sheltered areas that are perfect for families.

2. Explore Noosa National Park

Noosa National Park is right on the doorstep of Noosa Main Beach and less than a 30-minute walk from Hastings Street.

This national park has five walks to choose from, each offering their own spectacular views. If you only have time for one, though, we suggest taking the Coastal Walk (four hours return) for its impressive ocean vistas and rocky shoreline. Be on the lookout for koalas and other Australian wildlife species in the forest, too! Noosa National Park is also home to a few natural rock pools, so be sure to make time for a dip in the Fairy Pools.

3. Taste the Local Cuisine

With access to quality seafood and fresh produce, Noosa’s dining culture is flourishing. Plenty of cafes, casual eateries, fusion restaurants, and fine dining fare mean there’s something to satisfy the palate of every traveller.

Situated right above Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas is Park & Cove, one of Noosa’s most beloved dining spots. As a “reflection of the space where land meets sea”, Park & Cove’s Executive Chef Andrew Wilcox showcases the seasonal stars of the region’s produce for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One of the best things to do in Noosa is to indulge in local coastal flavours at the iconic Noosa Beach House. Sample a drop from the impressive wine list or treat yourself to artisanal cocktails at the Noosa Beach House Bar. If you want a truly special dining experience, wander through to the Noosa Beach House Restaurant. Embracing an authentic farm-to-table ethos, this Sunshine Coast darling was awarded the prestigious 2024 Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat title.

4. Discover the Noosa Everglades

The Noosa Everglades is one of Australia’s relatively untouched natural wonders, and is one of two everglades in the world. Travel just 40 minutes outside of Noosa Heads to experience this diverse ecosystem, where you’ll find over 40% of Australia’s bird species. If you love being out on the water, we suggest hiring a canoe or kayak to experience the everglades up close.
