We have been regular visitors to The Sebel. Our room was very good and we were not disturbed by the current renovations. We found the staff that cleaned our room very good but were disappointed with the administration staff. They seemed to be lacking in experience and didn't communicate well.

I have never been so disappointed staying at your resort I called 2 weeks prior to my holiday as I discovered the renovations were delayed I wanted to cancel as the reviews were terrible & also my husband has had a serious accident on his keg & can’t walk long distances I spoke to a young man & he assured me the renovations were almost complete & there would be no more cutting of tiles & noise He assured me that he would give us a room close to the pool on the ground floor to minimise walking far & going up stairs Because if his reassurance we trusted his word & decided to proceed with our booking We arrived only to discover we were put in a room in the furthest location from reception Building 4 up 3 flights of stairs adjacent to the most noise No one bothered to help us with our bags at reception & I have videos of the loud continuous noise & the disruption that surrounded us We couldn’t relax & had saved our frequent flyer points & money to take this trip first holiday in ten years for our anniversary only to be so devastated at the fact no one bothered to appease our situation

In general it was good and we understand that you are renovating and repairing. Your staff were friendly. But two issues stood out. When we called downstairs and complained about the leaf blower which woke us up at 6:20 one morning, your employee said it's next door BUT they have to get the work done. I was also doing a lot of work in preparation for a presentation in Brisbane last Friday. I could have read War and Peace waiting for the Internet to work. The downloads were 4.93 and the uploads 0.34. I complained several times. They kept telling me it had been reset. Then the young man on the front desk told me these speeds were "standard". I questioned this and he said "standard at this hotel". Honestly. It took me four times longer to finish my work, meaning I missed a lot of my holiday. I cannot see why the renovations have anything to do with internet speeds or the system dropping out regularly. Now, just to check if anyone ever reads these surveys and to prove you are not wasting the time of a loyal Platinum Member, would someone please call me on +61… within 7 days. If I do not hear from someone from Accor within 7 days I will send a copy of this survey to Accor CEO Ms Sarah Derry

Our stay at The Sebel was great. We were so happy to be upgraded as the room was nicely renovated and spacious so I would be happy to return with my family.
