We booked last minute at the Mantra and they had availability which was great. We were told that we had been up graded to a new room and when we arrived it clearly wasn’t. The toilet was coved in faeces which was revolting. On further inspection the bathroom had not been cleaned. We were moved to another room but it was still disappointing. Will not be staying here again and would not recommend.

Well located but apartment furniture outdated and uncomfortable

Outside balcony was very dirty this included table and floor was not cleaned before our arrival The furniture inside the lounge area very uncomfortable for 4 people

It was a pleasant stay, we only stayed one night. However disappointed that there was no bottled water in the fridge upon arrival something that is expected from all hotels? One small carton of milk and we had 4 guests in the apartment, so again , expectations not met.

Re design and refurbishment needed

My room burning a Felix pool king room was badly designed, small and not practical. Cooking facilities could not be used successfully due to inadequate appliances a risk of smoke detectors going off. The spa / shower in the bathroom was a step up and in of approximately 600mm which is not a suitable access for my age or younger people. Bedroom TV not working all stations. In general not a comfortable place.

We had a nice stay at the mantra the staff where all so nice and the kids loved the pool. Are view was not the best as in the photos they all looked like pool views or street views and we where stuck in the corner with no view. Wish we just got better room services and also the rooms where not that clean But overall a nice place

Well located, but not clean

It's clear that the units are not ever vacuumed. Mopping with excessive amounts of bleach doesn't do it. There was hair etc on floors, dust build up everywhere, drink marks on bedside tables because they hadn't been cleaned as we're finger print marks on fridge. Bleach smell was excessive we had to open up unit and leave it for several hours as it was making us feel sick

Staff and hotel were excellent but unfortunately the hotel was full and we were in a room next door to one that was under renovation and really should not have been rented out as there was continuous banging all day. We spent a lot of time in our room as the weather was not kind to us. We were advised when we checked in about the renovations and told we could change rooms if need be but as it was a Sunday all was quiet and we unpacked and on Monday thought it would be too much to pack everything back up to move. Having said all this I would stay at the Mantra again as I have stayed there 3 times and enjoy it.

We have stayed at the Mantra previously and will definitely stay there in the future. It is ideally located and about half the cost of staying on the other side of Hastings Street. Our 2 bedroom apartment was beautifully appointed and had everything that we needed. Although we did not use the pool, it was lovely to look at this while we had breakfast or afternoon happy hour.

Extremely disappointed. Close to $500 per night the rooms being only serviced every 7 days is very disappointing. The swipes that enabled access into our apartment on 2 occasions locked us out and then finally the lock was replaced. However, in between that one of the other access doors didn’t work with our swipes. Each time my husband went to reception and whilst a very nice young man was dispatched to help sort the issue there was no care coming from reception to management personnel. I strongly recommend that the Accor Group does buy the right to any other establishments as your ability to manage is non existent. You take a good hotel and turn it into a failure.

Well located, the pool was lovely. The room was dirty and the three bedroom apartment has a odd setup with a bed in a bathroom or a bathroom in a bedroom, I am unsure. We were offered a discount off our first night of accomadation due to the dirty room. Almost three weeks later and we are still waiting for the refund!!!

I think the hotel was built around 1994, and my guess is the room we stayed in hasn't been updated since the hotel was built. I could see into other rooms and could see that they were definitely refurbished. Maybe on the hotel booking website, it should list the rooms as "Modern refurbished room" or "Original room straight out of the 90's" and price them accordingly. Luckily, I only stated for 2 nights, but every time I walked into the bathroom, i was reminded how dated a 90's bathroom is compared to a modern one. Apart from all the negatives, parking was great underground, the pool was great and the hotel location was great, meaning we could walk barefoot to the beach. Just refurbish your rooms....

As you said, the standard apartments have the original kitchen, bathroom and flooring so they have only received soft refurbishments through the years in terms of bedding, furniture's and appliances. Less that 10% of the apartments at the resort are classified as Standard as the vast majority of rooms have been fully renovated over the past 7 years and they are classified as Deluxe. Pictures of both room types are available on our website and you can see the difference in terms of layout, décor and also rates. You can rest assured that the renovation of the remaining standard apartments is underway and will be gradually completed within the next 12 months to minimize the inconveniences associated with the works. I was happy to read that you have enjoyed the location of the resort so we would really love to welcoming you back again in future and please, do not hesitate to contact me directly when you plan your next visit so I can personally assist with the room selection and any special request you ay have. Perfect location for a quality hotel. Unfortunately this place is nothing like it! Old and tired, dirty place (apartment) great pool. Dirty, dusty, lack of quality cooking equipment, why have a kitchenette? pointless if you can't cook, mismatched - all packaged in plastic foil????? - please save the planet, think people...surely there are other solutions....

For this reason the wrapping paper is 100% recyclable and you can rest assured that we cannot wait for the day when precautions as such with be no longer required. Close to beach, National Park and Hasting Street. Room was comfortable and spacious, view over looking pool helped with the relaxation vibe needed to step away from our busy lives! Such a great location with restaurants a walk away! Lovely staff made us feel home away from home! Great location for families too!
