While breakfast offered a wide selection, the food quality fell short of expectations. The swimming pool was noticeably unclean, with mud accumulated at the bottom, and the Wi-Fi was either failing to connect or painfully slow. The elevators were also frustratingly slow and overcrowded, leading to unreasonable wait times. Most disappointingly, the level of service provided was far below what we paid for—it was so minimal that it made virtually no difference whether staff were there or not.

Overall a pleasant experience, only that one day my room was left opened by the staff after room cleaning. Luckily nothing was stolen.

During my 3 days (2 nights) stay, the pool and beach facilities closed on 2nd day due to typhoon. While feeling so depressed and disappointed for no fun at all on 2nd day, and there's even no rain on 2nd day, and I had to watch the pool and little sunshine. (On the same day, I went to Nikko Alivila Hotel, and they had the pool open, that made me quite jealous.) Well, the wind and rains coming on 2nd night, it's safe and feeling no fears staying inside the room. The tightness of windows had no wind noise nor shakes. This is nice.

We loved our stay at Cape Zanpa Grand Mercure. We loved the position right near the beach, which was very pretty. The pool was lovely but the water was a little too hot. The rooms were spacious and very nice. Breakfast has a huge variety. The resort was extremely busy, which we knew because it’s their peak season. It’s perfect for families with children. If you are a couple, be prepared for a lot of kids. Staff were all lovely. The free poolside snack and drinks were a lovely feature. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay despite a few maintenance issues. We loved the hotel facilities, the free-flow beverage service, and the excellent breakfast buffet. The beach was the highlight — we joined all the activities and our kids had a blast. That said, a couple of maintenance problems slightly affected our experience. The light at our room's entrance was out of order. When we contacted the service team, we were told it was an electrical issue that couldn't be repaired. This was inconvenient, as the area was very dark and it made packing our luggage difficult. The second issue was more concerning: some tiles had come loose in the floating pool and scratched my kids' legs. I'd consider this fairly urgent and hope it gets attention soon.

I've left the hotel direct feedback, and received a 'we hear you, but we won't change..' response. Rent a car, it's far to secluded to grab taxis and buses; if you are a family this may suit, however as a couple coming for a relaxing break....avoid!; it's a massive kids club.....kids everywhere, screaming, shouting, 0900 - 2100 hours daily; no respite in the executive lounge if you can use it as this also become a kids club until 2300 hours (there is nowhere for anyone to go bar here or the main restaurant); lifts (elevators) can take up to 15-20 minutes to come to ground floors (the hotel knows this, accepts this, and shrugs their shoulders); It's pretty much an all inclusive set up - pool bar and ground floor lounge have free drinks (including beers and wine) 15… - good luck.....I saw individuals loading up 10-12 drinks like they'd never seen anything offered free before!; Kids!! I know not the hotel's issue or fault, however, feral kids with no sign of adult control....everywhere. It's a self rated (ACCOR) 5-STAR....however having been in truly 5-star establishments worldwide, this is not even near a 4-star; When I complained to receptionist I was told bluntly that I'd been upgraded and was allowed access to lounge; Good luck with your luggage (DIY deliver to room), no porter, no rela interest from reception other than to issue pool bands daily. Won't be back, complaints are in, and good luck to all who brave this.

This resort had all the things we wanted in a place to stay. It has polite and helpful staff, great food, pools, slides, beach and laundry.

Pool, beach, public bath facilities and self-serve beverage bar made me speechless. Staff provided excellent service WiFi speed needs an upgrade. Beach activities and booking instructions were a bit unclear. It was too late to understand the booking for beach obstacles

We stayed for two nights from July 9 to 11 as a family of two adults and two children, including a Friday night. For a resort charging well over TWD 10,000 per night, and often around TWD 20,000 or more during the summer, the experience did not justify the price. Although the beach closure due to the typhoon was understandable, the pool and outdoor bath were also unavailable, making the stay feel like an ordinary hotel. The hotel failed to inform us about two Amazon packages clearly labelled with my name and booking number. Staffing also appeared insufficient, with slow check-in and disorganized breakfast service. Overall, I would rate the stay 2 out of 10.

Best sunset view at Zanpa beach, nice facilities (swimming pool, several slides and beach), but service level is not matched, most Japanese staff are very kind and supportive, but one western guy (who served wrist band for pool) is not friendly and simply told me to go to beach house when I asked about beach activity reservation. The beach towel staff scolded my children of taking extra towels, even though they had only used one towel each. while the hotel offers complimentary food and beverages during certain hours, it is located in a remote area with limited dining options. The lack of room service makes it even more inconvenient for guests.

The renovated room, Executive Lounge, beach, and swimming pools were all excellent. Our child especially enjoyed the beach and pool facilities, and we had a very pleasant stay overall. Before arrival, we received an email inviting us to complete online check-in. However, my name was misspelled in the hotel's system, which prevented passport verification. I reported the issue by email but received no response. Although the front desk resolved it at check-in, even the messages sent after check-out still showed the incorrect name. One small disappointment was that many of the complimentary activities were fully booked, so we were unable to participate despite them being advertised as free. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope the hotel can further improve its service and reservation management.

To manage the breakfast crowds, I suggest implementing a staggered time-slot registration system; the number of elevators is insufficient, forcing me to take the stairs back to my room every day. Beach activities are limited to one use per room daily, and securing a reservation requires competing for a slot at 7:00 AM—a process that falls short of the experience expected at this price point. Additionally, the evening "Happy Hour" is chaotic; it would be better to simply set out drinks for guests to help themselves, and snacks should be individually sealed for better hygiene.

Loved the pool, the food and the service. Staff were friendly but overworked. Not enough staff on front desk. Beach activities sporadically open and too many pool rules (which were variably applied).

Amazing for kids. Good slides and pool. Food good quality and quantity. Staff so friendly. Will definitely come again.
