The front desk staff provided polite and efficient service with excellent recognition of my elite benefits. Since I booked the entry-level room (Standard), I received a one-tier upgrade to a **Superior Room**. Let's dive deep into the room details. ### **🛏️ Deep Dive into the Room (Superior Room)** When it comes to the Mercure brand in Japan, the style leans toward a **Business Hotel**. It prioritizes functionality, cleanliness, and efficiency over massive space. * **Size & Layout:** The room is compact, fitting the typical Japanese blueprint. However, the layout design is incredibly smart and well-proportioned, ensuring the space never feels claustrophobic. The bed is comfortable with a firm mattress. There is also a long work desk equipped with plenty of power outlets, making it super convenient for me to pop open my laptop and clear some quick tasks. 💻 * **Luggage Management:** For this trip, I brought a 20-inch suitcase. I was pleased to find that the hallway and the space at the foot of the bed offered more than enough room to lay the suitcase fully open. I could easily walk past it without feeling cramped. 🧳 * **Standard Japanese Bathroom:** The bathroom is a classic, prefabricated Unit Bath commonly found throughout Japan. While it isn’t massive, it was spotlessly clean. The water heating system and water pressure were phenomenally strong. All necessary amenities were fully stocked. 🚿 * **Peace & Quiet:** Despite the hotel being right next to the Monorail station and a main road, the soundproofing of the windows and walls was excellent. I slept soundly through the night without a single peep of traffic noise disturbing my rest. 😴 ### **📍 The Main Highlight (The Unmistakable Standout)** If I had to pinpoint the absolute best feature of this hotel without thinking twice, it’s **"Location and Accessibility."** This is hands-down the biggest selling point here. 🚀 > **Right Next to the Monorail (Tsubogawa Station):** The hotel is practically glued to the station. You literally step off the Monorail, walk down, and you're at the hotel entrance. It’s absolutely perfect for anyone wheeling heavy bags from the airport—just a single ride on the Yui Rail and you're done. On the other hand, if you prefer renting a car to drive around like I do, they also provide ample parking and offer incredibly easy access to the highway. 🚗💨 > ### **🍳 Food & Beverage** * **Breakfast (Platinum Benefit):** Complimentary for Platinum members. Very conveniently located 3 mins walk to Tsubogawa Monorail station with an adjacent Family Mart convenience store, plus a 7-Eleven store and a Don Quijote supermarket (stocked almost everything one would need or want) 5-10 mins walk away. A thoughtful inclusion in the room was the provision of sleepshirts and slippers. Nearby on our floor was a drinks machine, an ice machine and cool water dispenser. Kettle and green tea bags with cups, mugs, drinking glasses and mini fridge are in the room. Very helpful, patient reception staff, esp Mark who provided suggestions on places to visit in between booked activity days. Gulliver car rentals staff in the lobby and multi level car park were also very helpful and patient with our queries using our phones for translations. Buffet breakfast had a good selection of both Eastern and Western hot and cold options, 3-4 fruit selections, fruit juices, dairy and almond milk, teas and coffee machine. We would happily return to stay at Mercure Okinawa Naha.
