Location was great especially for the various markets around. The rooms are rather basic. Didn’t like that there is a step to cross to get into the bathroom and carpets need a cleaning though. Generally service and reception were good. Breakfast had a good spread as well.

👍The Mövenpick Hotel Chiang Mai benefits from a great central location and very friendly, welcoming staff, which is a major plus. Service overall is attentive, and the general ambience of the hotel is pleasant. However, the property is clearly aging and in need of renovation. Some areas—especially the bathrooms—require urgent attention. The silicone sealings are worn and deteriorating, which is a basic maintenance issue and should be a priority in any hotel. Cleanliness in these areas needs to be improved, as this is one of the most important standards guests expect. The price of around $59 per night is fair for what is offered, but expectations should match the condition of the facilities. The dinner buffet was acceptable, though not particularly memorable, and the live music felt slightly off (a bit squeaky), which affected the overall dining experience. At the pool, service could be more efficient—waiting around 5 minutes for a simple bottled drink seems unnecessary. Also, the setup could be improved; more lounge chairs (at least 3–4 instead of just one) would make the area much more usable. Overall, the hotel has good fundamentals—location, staff, and atmosphere—but would greatly benefit from a proper retrofit and modernization, especially in key functional areas like bathrooms and maintenance details.

The hotel is outdated and the set up with long corridors without daylight makes the vibe spooky.Furniture in the rooms is old and dark which again adds to a sad/ spooky vibe. I had an upgrade which made it a bit better but no upgrade makes up for the fact that this hotel better be torn down and rebuild. Breakfast was also not mövenpick standard. It was messy, and very little non asian choices. The overall standard of this hotel is truly too low and as said I honestly believe that the state of the building and the no existing warm vibe has a lot to do with that. Evening restaurant same story ( the cafe eatery) not promoted in any way , not made attractive for customers to walk in and enjoy. Pool area… 3 out of 10 Pool in the shade mostly and again not made ‘inviting’ to customers.

We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. The location is excellent and the staff are fabulous. As Accor members we were upgraded to a spacious suite. The hotel is comfortable but I feel it needs a bit of TLC. The pool area lacks any sort of vibe as is poorly maintained.
