The property itself is pleasant and reflects the signature Sofitel design and ambiance. However, the service did not live up to the Sofitel standard. Despite being a five-star property, the service felt average at best. It was apparent that many staff members lacked a sense of ownership and were inadequately trained. Several appeared to be new or placed at the front line before being fully ready. Overall, the service was disappointing, especially considering the expectations associated with the Sofitel brand.

The Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara is a luxury oasis just a few kilometres from the city center. As accor platinum members we got a very nice corner room on the 16th floor. The room was absolutely quiet, very spacious, well equipped and extremely clean. Many thanks to the excellent room service. The pool area is also very beautiful. The water in the big pool is at a quite pleasant temperature. The sauna area is great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The pleasantly quiet Club Millesime also leaves nothing to be desired. The food is varied and of high quality. Thank you very much to the very attentive, friendly and helpful staff Vino, Anishma, Lachana, Ekbar, Midhun and Hans. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, which is not least due to the very friendly and attentive staff beginning with the doormen. Also many thanks to the concierge. A special thank to housekeeping manager Norshahida Noor who implemented our suggestions directly.

⸻ Great stay as usual — but likely my last. The ground-floor restaurant serves some good items, and the staff there are consistently friendly and professional. The lounge on the 22nd floor deserves special mention: exceptionally attentive staff who clearly care about guest experience. Unfortunately, the shortcomings outweigh the positives. Nizza is simply not worth the price — from both food quality to service, it fails to meet expectations. My room once again had broken day and night curtains, making it impossible to close them. This is not the first time this has happened. Additionally, the bathroom lighting was far too dim, while the shower lighting was excessively bright — an odd and poorly thought-out setup that suggests a lack of attention to detail. Having spent hundreds of nights in 4- and 5-star hotels over the past 40 years across the world, I have experienced both excellent and disappointing stays. However, the issues described above are not acceptable for a 5-star hotel.
