So many simple issues that can be avoided. Check-in (with a very uninterested member of staff) was clearly done incorrectly as I end up locked out my room and spending 30mins trying to resolve the issue. The staff I dealt with shouldn't be working in hospitality, poor communication, barely speak to you. Public area facilities are awful (especially toilets). Such a shame, this used to be my go-to business hotel in Bristol.

On check in it hadn’t been passed on I had asked for 3 people in the room not 2, but I’d booked a room with a queen and sofa bed. Eventually it got resolved but it still took some time. The room was tight but adequate for our one night stay but we did have to ask for more cups, towels etc a couple of times, The beds were comfortable however. The evening meal was very nice but the restaurant was extremely cold and therefore uncomfortable to spend much time in. The service was very good with very nice staff

The hotel was, as always, clean and comfortable. The food at breakfast was delicious and had a good set of options - even the toaster was set to a good setting rather than one where the bread has to be put back through 3 times! All the staff were professional, approachable and were a credit to your business…apart from one, who clearly had other things on his mind than the customer. When I checked in, early on the Tuesday evening, the staff member at the reception desk was abrupt, dismissive and seemed keen to ‘process’ me as quickly as possible. There was nobody else checking in or requesting help from Reception so I was the only person (or issue) he had to deal with. He didn’t welcome me, ask me about my journey, ask me if I had stayed before, explain where everything was, tell me that my IHG membership had been acknowledged or ask me if I needed everything else. I was merely processed, told what my room number was and directed (with fast talking that bordered on aggressive) towards the lift. Other than my dealings with that person, my stay with you was very enjoyable and I will always choose your hotel as my first option when staying in Bristol for either work or pleasure. But I will avoid that member of staff in future if I see them at the reception desk.

The location is perfect, 10-15 mins walk to Cabot circus, affordable parking right underneath the hotel, the amenities were ideal for our one night stay, and the staff were very friendly (also provided mini gifts for our children which was a lovely added touch).

It's been amazing staying at the Novotel Bristol. I had some bad experiences in the past with other Novotel chains in the London area, so I was hesitant to book in Bristol. The staff and hotel amenities proved me wrong; everyone offered exceptional customer service, including the room cleaning staff and the front desk team, who showed professionalism and empathy when I checked out early due to a change in plans. Their customer service has shifted my perception; I now believe that one branch of a hotel chain should not be judged based on prejudice. Thanks very much.

Ideally situated for city centre activities whilst the hotel is generally well presented certain elements let it down. Very pleasantly appointed lobby and restaurant matched by a good sized room with suitable amenities it is disappointing to note that the room temperature controls were very temperamental meaning an appropriate temperature was nigh on impossible to achieve let alone maintain. But the worst thing about the hotel was the truculent receptionist / greeter, she seemed to view guests a necessary hinderance, whilst not quite rude she was unwelcoming and impatient. Need to add that the lady and gentleman attending the next morning (Wednesday 23rd were much better).

Price for rooms were higher than when I booked online. We were not told that our room was below a gym that opened at 6 am every morning. The noise was so loud ,bearing in mind we had no idea what it was, it sounded as though the ceiling was collapsing. This happened every morning. Why weren’t we told what to expect and why isn’t there a reduction in the price for that room. It cost us over £200 for that room ! The tap in the bathroom had no volume to it. It just about trickled out. The shower head dripped ALL the time.
