Raffles is quiet, private and family friendly. The view really nice，Gabriele is very sweet and accommodated all our requests. The hotel upgraded our room, the food was excellent, 24 hour room service, and I was particularly pleased that the hotel provided free transfers from the airport and to nearby restaurants.

It was a decent experience overall. Prior to our stay, we were contacted by the Raffles team about our plans with reasons so they can prepare beforehand. While it was a nice gesture, I got somewhat annoyed when our conversation went in circles about check in time being circumstantial. I understand that is the case in any hotel (ie. check in time subject to availability), but isn’t the point of reaching out to us before our stay is about making sure some of these details (including check in time) is confirmed? I felt like I was given a templated response during this conversation, and while it wasn’t a big deal, it was definitely part of the experience. Entering the property felt like we were entering into a different world. Definitely felt very serene and everything just screams luxury. We were greeted by our butler for our stay, who was kind and helpful. I wish he was there more often so we can have more conversations, which usually happens in similar level properties, but in Raffles I get the impression that we were handled more by the butler team, which I feel is okay and subject to personal preference. There was a moment I got slightly confused when they only served welcome drinks and towels for me and my wife, but not for our son’s helper who we brought along. But then we asked for one and then she was given the welcome drink. We were told that we got an upgrade because of my status in the booking platform, which was nice, and we were taken to our villa. From here, I think it really depends on the benchmark for the villa. Compared to general hotels around Bali, sure it was grand and nice. We have a pool for ourselves, quite a big room and outdoor area, but I personally think what separates properties like Raffles to other hotels is in the details, which we didn’t quite experience at Raffles. Comparing to similar properties around Bali with similar pricing, the view was definitely underwhelming, as we were told that we were in the highest category 1-bedroom villa and yet our view was not as expansive as we have wished. Half of the view is blocked by a hill, and quarter is blocked by the villa beneath us. Then there were some details like access to the bathroom from outside, which only left us with options either to walk through our main bedroom while wet (if we just finished swimming), or walk through a path of rocks (no pathway) to access the outdoor shower. I can, however, say, plane spotting from our villa became a point of interest during our stay, as we got the perfect view of planes landing in the Bali airport. We went to the beach and pretty much had it to ourselves, quite literally. While it was nice that is quiet, the beach wasn’t even manned. No staff was there, so when we had issues with the beach chairs, we had to make a long way up to call someone down. Food wise, loved the lunch experience close to the swimming pool area, I thought the food was nice. The breakfast, not so much. It was okay, but definitely expected more in terms of taste and variations. We stayed for 3 nights, and at the last breakfast, I pretty much only ate some eggs because we’ve tried all the menu. The location was great as there were plenty of food options around Jimbaran area. Overall, it was a decent stay. I know I wrote more on the negative, but I think expectation comes with the price Raffles has set. I try to judge a stay by reflecting on whether I would go back again, and I think Raffles wouldn’t be too high on my list, and yet I can definitely say our family did make good memories and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters.

Amazing hospitality experiences from Raffles Bali. All staff are very attentive and nice. We love the restaurant Loloan. High quality of food. Julian our butler has been very considerate to accommodate all our needs and take very good care of us. Highly recommend to check out this wonderful resort.

The stay was wonderful. The room is super clean, Service was great! There are lots of activities to do, both for kids and adult. Special thanks to Gaby and Thomson our bulter! Been very helpful. Overall it was a great escape from the busy city life. Fully recharged!
