We had an awesome stay but only problem was we couldn’t find the smokers area, other than that it was a great place to stay

As a Platinum Elite IHG member, I would say I'm reasonably well versed in the brand and offerings. I'll start by saying the restaurant service, food & character could not be faulted, absolutely wonderful. Pool - needless to say this pool is lovely in design, looks great at night, however is colder than most ice baths. The weather was hot (27°c~) but this pool had to be below 15°c and kids couldn't stay in it for longer than 5-10 minutes without being blue. The major frustration I have is I rang and spoke to the lady on reception, I asked for a room with Sofa bed and King bed as we had my two children (4 & 8) plus myself and my wife. I was told you didn't have any rooms like this and I then booked TWO rooms to accommodate my family (interconnecting). To my suprise I got curious in day two and took a solid look at the lounge. Both rooms had sofa beds, I opened one up completely (showed the photo to reception on my checking out). One could only think I've been hoodwinked into paying double when 1 x room would have been sufficient. I was told these options were decommissioned "two years ago", completely unsure why this facility would be removed from an offering when I'm sure 90% of families like ours would have 2 x kids whom could sleep comfortably on a sofa bed whilst Mum & Dad would be in the main bed. On checking out I made this gentleman aware of it and he said he would raise it with his GM as I feel I've been double charged for accommodation I didn't need. Still waiting for that call.
