TRIBE Amsterdam City is both unique and welcoming. Our Amsterdam design hotel is minutes from Centraal Station, with industrial accents and large mirrors that complement bold designer furniture. I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in April 2025. This is a modern and clean hotel in a new building in a residential area of Amsterdam. I loved the fact that it was a bit outside of the beaten paths. The electronic check-in is efficient. As a platinum member, I received a few waffles in my room (they were delicious, thank you very much). The room was well appointed, very clean and functional. The breakfast was good. Drinks at the bar were nice. I definitely enjoyed my stay.

Modern hotel with a cool atmosphere. Reasonable room size, large walk-in shower and generally relatively large bathroom. Comfortable bed and a pleasant, large lounge. Friendly staff. Good connection to the M52 metro, only 2 stops to Amsterdam Central. However, you should be aware that the hotel is located in a residential area, there are hardly any restaurants in the area. All rooms on the second floor are at street level, everyone can see directly into the room and the street is relatively busy and noisy. Definitely ask for a room on one of the upper floors. We were disappointed that we got a room directly on the street, even though we had booked a total of 5 nights. The gym is relatively well equipped for a hotel gym (dumbbells up to 20kg), but rather cramped if there are more than 4 people inside.

Lost items, denied calls, and no accountability – avoid this hotel.

I stayed at Tribe Amsterdam City in April 2025 and had a deeply disappointing experience. After checking out at 12:00 PM, I realised within two hours that I had left valuable jewellery behind in the room. I immediately called the hotel and submitted a message through their official website. I have a 2-minute call record, and the staff confirmed my email and said they’d follow up. However, they later denied ever receiving my call and refused to check the phone recording. They ignored multiple email requests, contradicted themselves in writing (first requesting a lost property form, then claiming the form does not exist), and made no real attempt to investigate. To this day, they have not recovered my items and continue to avoid responsibility. If this is how they treat guests who lose valuables, I fear for anyone expecting professional service or security here. I have already reported this case to the relevant authorities, including a formal request to reassess whether this hotel still deserves its four-star rating. Do not stay here if you value honesty, proper handling of lost property, or basic customer respect. I’ve also submitted formal complaints to the ECC and ACM, and I advise other travellers to be very cautious.
