The checkin process was straight forward, the staff don't really tell you anything you have to know what to ask and ask yourself. For example; wifi, laundry detergent, drink on arrival options. The room itself smelt weird but bearable, there was tears in carpet, airconditioner wall unit needed a clean, bathroom bathtub had visible wear and tear and staining, shower grout needed thorough cleaning. Kitchen cupboards vinyl visibly damaged, freezer needed defrosting as chunks of ice buildup. It was nice to have a couch, spare blankets, washing machine in apartment. The little breakfast high table is nice. Kitchen has couple tea bags and sugar provided, kettle, cutlery. There was other stuff but I wasn't paying attention as eating out. Don't recommend using the washer dryer, as its a combo takes hours like overnight to wash and dry a load. It would have been faster and more effective to visit laundromat. I was there for a few days, I realised on day two room wasn't being cleaned or serviced so the next day I spoke to 2 staff members at reception asking for room to be serviced. Yes manager has just stepped out but we will pass it along. I returned in the evening and again nothing had been done. I visited reception and Jan checked there was no notes or anything about room servicing, at this point it was early evening. I asked for some fresh towels and received those. He did mention they took over hotel yesterday. On checkout saw same staff member I asked for room to be serviced mentioned to them and they really didnt care, no explanation. Overall you get what you pay for its cheap and is a room over head. Expect to ask for towels etc. Location for me was great as I was working remote so only block to office. However there isn't much in the way of food, cafes near by. Melbourne couple of blocks or walk block and catch tram and can get anywhere. There is also a vending machine for drinks in foyer.

Unfortunately, our stay was unsatisfactory due to safety concerns regarding our room. Specifically, the smoke detector had been removed and not replaced, leaving the apartment without any fire or smoke detection. In addition, I received an electric shock from a broken switch mechanism on a power point located in the kitchen. These matters were reported immediately, and repairs were requested after our first night’s stay (5/12). At that time, we were offered the option to move rooms but declined, assuming the repairs would be completed that day. On the following day (6/12), the issues were reported again. On this occasion, rather than completing the urgent repairs, the only solution offered by staff was for my family to vacate the apartment halfway through our stay and find alternative accommodation elsewhere. As it was a Saturday during a period of high demand (with no comparable rates or locations available), and as we were in Melbourne on holiday with tours and shows booked for the day and evening, this option was very difficult to realise. Consequently, we were forced to make the difficult decision to remain for the remaining two nights. I do not believe it is unreasonable to expect that repairs and unsafe conditions be rectified when requested. In fact, in the interest of fulfilling your legal and ethical responsibilities regarding fire and electrical safety for guests, a working smoke detector should have been installed and the defective power point replaced after being reported the first time—or the apartment should not have been tenanted at all. It appears reception staff attempted to arrange repairs in line with routine maintenance requests, but unsuccessfully. It also appears that emergency or urgent repair processes are either ineffective or non-existent. When we left on 8/12, repairs still had not been completed. Photos are available. Apart from these issues, the apartment was well situated and clean.
