Paid in full from a room, they cancelled it with no replacement or refund, unbelievable!

Beware of this place, I booked a room through Expedia, paid $200 for a room last week. Arrived on the night and was told, sorry there was an error and we are overbooked. No refund no alternative night of accommodation just kept the money. Unbelievable that they can do this to people!

First room noisy

We checked in to our 2 bed apartment & the room with no windows had a very noisy machine sounding noise in it. I approached reception explaining the issue. They called housekeeping who advised it was the wind. I approached reception again & asked if there was another room. The girl asked if I had used anything from the room & treated me like an inconvenience but eventually sourced another room. We changed rooms. The new room was quiet but really needs to be refurbished as everything was tarnished. The light to the 2nd bedroom was located near the toilet & the toilet light was in the bathroom which caused confusion & concern that the wrong light would be flicked on in the middle of the night.

Upon arriving at the hotel around 4pm, we encountered several issues beginning with our room allocation. After checking in, I immediately verified the room type and discovered it lacked the shower-over-bath configuration that was explicitly stated in our reservation, which was essential for our small child. Also, the room type booked contained a shower over bath. When I brought this to the attention of the reception staff, she initially denied that we had booked a room with a guaranteed bath. After I presented our reservation showing the room specification, her attitude became confrontational, suggesting that this "should not be her issue." She then made an inappropriate comment, warning us "don't let your child touch a thing in the room." When I calmly explained our fatigue from travelling across time zones, she responded hostilely, stating "she better not touch a thing since you refuse to stay in it." Despite our 13-night booking, the staff member claimed nothing could be done. As a recent Platinum member, I was aware that hotels maintain rooms for last-minute check-ins and have protocols for guest relocation or compensation if mid-stay moves are necessary. Remarkably, to facilitate a room change, I had to apologise (despite no fault on my part) and acknowledge that working on January 1st might be challenging, though presumably with holiday compensation. Subsequent interactions with this staff member were equally problematic. Her consistent response to any issue was "I can't do anything as I'm on my own," including when we reported non-functioning air conditioning during business hours on a 30-plus-degree day, when there was ample time to contact maintenance. Additional issues included: No welcome drink was provided - despite asking about this Only one bottle of water was supplied for three registered guests Insufficient crockery and cutlery in the room Room wasn't properly cleaned from previous guests When these issues were raised, the response remained the same: "nothing can be done."

Don’t stay here. Try the Rydges if location is important.

Massively overpriced. Tired fittings. Lacking inner curtain in bedroom so the room is light at dawn. No services for eating or leisure space. Not up to Mantra standard.

The iron in the room ruined a shirt, and the air conditioner dripped a large puddle of water all during my stay. The rooms and corridors smelled off. Reception did not help with the dripping air conditioner.
