The toaster didn’t work. So heating the croissants that came with the breakfast was a bit of a problem. Apart from that we had a very comfortable stay. Close to everything we needed.

The place is fine. Concerningly, if you need to checkin after hours you have to call a number listed outside and provide you’re entire credit card number, expiry and 3 digit security code. If you don’t they won’t check you in. Crazy. Anyone could be on the other end of the phone, and the number could easily be manipulated. They need a better system.

As we were staying with you in order to meet an appointment in Collins Street early on Wednesday, we were extremely annoyed that we left your premises without the breakfast we paid for. We were not aware at the time of booking that we would not be having an early breakfast in the dining room. Reception informed us that breakfast would be delivered to our room between 9 and 9:30, I informed her that we would be needing to leave the Mantra around 9. She said she’d see what she could do. Later in the day we went to reception and spoke to a male receptionist and told him our situation in relation to breakfast. He gave us a card and said to ring the office number at 7:50 in the morning. He also said that breakfast would arrive around 8:00am. This we did and there was no response and we couldn’t leave a message, as the disc was full. At 8:05 my husband went to reception and ask about breakfast and the woman in reception said there probably would be no croissants with breakfast if we wanted it early. At 9:12 we presented to reception, as we could wait no longer. The receptionist said she would speak to management about being reimbursed for breakfast. I can’t say we were impressed by having to go to a meeting without anything to eat. This has never happened to us before at an Accor hotel. We’ve been members of Accor for many years and have stayed at numerous Accor hotels in Melbourne. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed, but we will never book again. Regards Mary
