A Scathing Review: The Mozart Prague – An Overpriced Nightmare If your dream trip to Prague includes navigating an obstacle course, sleeping in a lit-up attic, and being accused of phantom charges, then The Mozart Prague—proudly bearing the ALL Accor badge—is the perfect hotel for you. For everyone else, consider this a dire warning. From the moment we arrived, the experience was, to put it mildly, a complete cluster. Any expectation of Accor-level standards, cultivated from wonderful stays at properties like the Grand Amsterdam or Sofitel St James, was instantly vaporized. The Room: A Punishment, Not a Retreat Our “room” was a labyrinthian attic annex. After an elevator to the 4th floor, you must walk outside to climb a steep, uncovered staircase to the 5th floor. Bell service forgot our keys on arrival, leaving us stranded. Dragging suitcases up this gauntlet is a feat of endurance. Inside, the absurdity continues: stairs down into the room, and more stairs down into the bathroom. The “shower” is a flooded mess with only half a door, furnished with mere hand soap and scarce hot water. A blinding spotlight from next door pierces the room all night. The “solution” is a cheap sleep mask on the nightstand and a roll-down blind that is comically too narrow. Speaking of the nightstand, the lamps aren’t plugged in, and there are no outlets or USB ports nearby. The design is not just bad; it’s hostile. The Service: Indifferent at Best, Accusatory at Worst The staff ethos seems to be one of profound apathy. As a loyal Accor investor and customer, I was not recognized or valued. The desk clerks were consistently sullen, unhelpful, and made no effort to rectify glaring issues. The sole bright spot was a hardworking young bellman, who was treated poorly by the very staff who should have commended him. The hotel’s operational failures are staggering. The elevator broke down, transforming our stay into a mandatory five-floor stairmaster session. But the true pièce de résistance of incompetence came at checkout. After being told my bill was settled and even returning the “begrudgingly given” free drink voucher, the desk clerk pursued me into the hallway to publicly announce I had an “uncovered restaurant bill.” I never set foot in their restaurant or bar. This was not an error; it felt like a scam. The absolute gall to fabricate charges as a parting shot encapsulates the entire experience. The Final Insult: No Peace, Only Noise Despite the physical exhaustion, sleep was impossible. Noise from alleyway parties and revving engines roared until 2:30 AM, turning our attic prison into a sound box. Verdict: A Betrayal of the Brand “Disappointed” is too mild. I feel cheated. The Mozart Prague is a broken-down, tired property that Accor should be deeply ashamed to affiliate with. It is grotesquely overpriced for the sub-hostel quality and negligent service it provides. My advice to ALL Accor: You must immediately retrain the staff, remodel this disaster of a property, or retire it from your portfolio entirely. To potential guests: Run. Your money and your sanity deserve infinitely better. My only hope is that the rest of Prague can erase the memory of this spectacularly awful hotel. Never. Again.

Dear Madam, We regret that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you left with a negative impression of our hotel. However, we would like to clarify that the interactions with our front office team during your stay were particularly challenging and did not allow for a calm or constructive dialogue. Our staff made several genuine efforts to assist you and to find appropriate solutions to address your concerns. These included the proposal of a room change, complimentary breakfast, as well as the opportunity to meet with a manager in order to discuss the situation in person. All of these proposals were declined. Throughout these exchanges, our team was repeatedly interrupted and addressed in a raised tone, which significantly limited their ability to explain, assist, or resolve the situation effectively. We wish to emphasize that we are fully committed to respectful communication and that our employees are entitled to the same level of courtesy they extend to our guests. We would also like to point out that The Mozart Prague is a historic building, which comes with specific architectural characteristics and limitations. A renovation program is scheduled to begin shortly in order to further enhance guest comfort while preserving the historical character of the property. In addition, the hotel currently operates as a white-label property and is not affiliated with a specific Accor brand. We remain committed to providing professional service and to maintaining a respectful and safe environment for both our guests and our staff. Dorine Lemasson Front Office and Quality Manager

The hotel was perfectly located for the tourist sights. Food was excellent both at breakfast and in the bar. The room (308) was a little tired and we had a couple of maintenance issues - bare wires on hairdryer and toilet flush collapsed into the wall. Both were dealt with quickly. It was a quiet corner of the hotel not affected by street or hotel noises which was great. The mini bar was a welcome surprise. Staff were all so friendly and helpful and we loved watching them decorate the hotel for Christmas. The room was a little warmer than we would have liked and we couldn't find a way to bring the temperature down easily but we chose not to report it.

Dear Mrs. Helen, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at The Mozart Prague. We are delighted to hear that you appreciated our prime location and enjoyed the quality of our food, both at breakfast and in the bar. It is also gratifying to know that our team made a positive impression with their friendliness and festive spirit. We acknowledge your feedback regarding the maintenance issues you encountered. While we strive to provide well-maintained accommodations, we appreciate your understanding as we addressed these matters swiftly. We also regret to hear that the room temperature was not to your liking. Our team is available to assist with any comfort adjustments, and we encourage guests to reach out should they encounter such issues in the future. Thank you once again for your valuable insights. We hope to welcome you back for another enjoyable stay. Warm regards, Dorine Lemasson Front Office and Quality Manager

Nikola V. Business - Confirmed reviews ALL

This was my probably 10th time in Prague and Mozart for Business in last few years. Room I got this time was not a proper hotel room. Before I was getting a bit „unusual“ rooms, but they were with some style and unique. This room was very bad experience and below standards. Second, I was disturbed at 5am with your stuff, where they woke me up telling me I ordered wake up call and transfer, which was not the case. They apologised and never mentioned this again. Later after breakfast, when I told this to receptionist she nodded and said sorry. If it was my hotel I would at least offer very sincere and deep apology and probably some token of respect for frequent guest for this fail made by your stuff. Last thing, there is now surcharge on some breakfast options which used to be included in the price. Though location is nice, this was too much to handle. BR

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for your continued trust in The Mozart during your many visits to Prague. We are very sorry for the early-morning disturbance caused by an internal misunderstanding. We fully understand how disruptive this must have been, and the matter has been addressed with our night team to avoid any recurrence. Regarding the room allocation, the hotel was fully booked during your stay, which unfortunately limited our ability to propose an alternative room. Nevertheless, we regret that the room assigned did not meet the standards you previously experienced, and your preferences have now been clearly noted for future visits. Concerning breakfast, the à-la-carte surcharge applies only to a few premium items, while the full buffet remains included. We value your loyalty sincerely and hope to welcome you back for a smoother and more enjoyable stay. Dorine Lemasson Front Office and Quality Manager
