Despite being an Accor Platinum member, I felt that there was a clear lack of recognition and appreciation for loyal members. In addition, although we stayed in a suite room, all of the windows were left uncleaned, making it impossible to properly enjoy the view. Upon check-out, I noticed that our room seemed to be the only one with this issue, which makes this feel like a particularly serious problem rather than a simple oversight. A suite room is supposed to provide a premium experience, and the condition of the windows significantly diminished the overall stay. I hope the hotel takes this matter more seriously and improves its quality control standards.

I like everything at Mercure Toyama Tonami except the struggle to get to the hotel. I emailed the hotel before my stay and asked if there is free shuttle bus service to take guest to the hotel. The answer was no and the responder suggested me taking a taxi from Tonami station to hotel at a cost of about ¥5000! That is too much for a lone traveller. I stayed at more than half of the 23/24 Mercure & Grand Mercure hotels incorporated from Daiwa Group into Accor, most of which provided shuttle service. The very few that did not is because there are handy public transport (i.e. bus, train) available. Finally my travel plan is to take a bus from JR Tonami station to 庄東センター(バス) bus station first. Then I may take a taxi there to the hotel but there were no. So I decided to walk to the hotel which took 35 minutes as I have baggage and the route is mostly up-slope. I strongly suggested the hotel to offer a free shuttle bus service, if not from Tonami station, at least from 庄東センター bus station.
