I stayed at Mercure Fukuoka Munakata for a day, and then 2 days with my family in Dec 2025. We were in Kyushu for our vacation. The stay was good, but the room was too warm for our comfort. The front desk was able to lend us a fan, which helps.

We had a good stay at the hotel, arrived late driving from Beppu. Ms Yamamoto assisted to check on restaurants around the area, offered to call to reserve for us. The spa is big and spacious, as with the rooms we booked. The availability of lockers to leave luggage while we drove out after checking out is a great plus!

A distance away from FKK city center but was worth the drive up and down as it was in a quiet area. Hotel is good with its own onsen and foc drink lounge in afternoon and at night. Walls a bit thin and thus got to keep the volume down.

1. Going to the hotel – The hotel has a pick up service from Togo station, but YOU NEED TO BOOK by email 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE, as the bus only come per demand basis. 2. Location – at Munakata, a very serene and quiet outskirt area of Fukuoka. A good place to cycle around. Be mindful that there are not many amenities around this hotel, including F&B 3. Check in – efficient and quick. The front counter staff provided the necessary hotel information adequately. 4. Room – clean and well lit, typical japanese style design. 5. Facilities – this is a great hotel to relax – there is a large onsen (indoors and outdoors), outdoor pool, vegetable garden, tennis courts (rackets and balls provided for free), and bicycles. 6. F&B – there is tea time and supper drinks and snacks for all guests. Also available, DIY ground coffee during the day time! Bear in mind that there is only one restaurant in the hotel, and they only serve BUFFET dinner. 7. Breakfast – buffet, wide range of intercontinental and japanese spread I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel and I can feel the hospitality provided by the staff. Highly recommended for a outskirt retreat when you are in Fukuoka.
