I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Giacomo Morra Alba – Handwritten Collection. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind, always ready to assist with anything I needed and making me feel truly welcome. My room was large, bright, and spacious, offering plenty of comfort and room to relax after a day of exploring. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with a variety of fresh and high-quality options to start the day perfectly. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and I would happily return.

I booked a suite but room was smaller than I expected. Other than that, everything was very plesant except the room temprature was too warm. Even with the heat off and the room window open, it was too warm during the night.

Hotel room was warm, inviting, and full of amenities. Parking, while not onsite, was nearby and easy to use. If not driving, it is just a one block walk to the train station. Easy access to the historic area of Alba. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting Alba and the gorgeous surrounding area. There is a secure public car park just 5 mins from the hotel. The staff are all lovely, friendly and very welcoming. I’ve been twice now and will definitely go back.

We decided to stay in Alba to be closer to the restaurants in the evening and then drive to various places (Sacra San Michel, truffle hunting, vineyards) and this worked out well as parking was quite close (and secure). Helpful staff. Quiet room. Eco friendly so amenities light which was fine.

The hotel has a wonderful location and downtown Alba and most restaurants are a few steps away. There is an adequate gym and my only recommendation would be to add a water filter. Parking is in the nearby station and very convenient to get in and out.

I booked a refundable room and had to cancel my last night. I told the staff about this when I first arrived and when I checked out I was told I would not get a refund for the last night. In addition the garbage in my room was not removed and I had to remove it myself. I will be returning to Alba for additional business next month but will be choosing a different hotel.

The hotel itself was new, modern, very well located. Small but comfortable room with good storage. Staff at breakfast was fantastic and front desk mostly friendly, until checkout. I’m gold with Accor program, no mention of that or benefits associated with that so I asked. I even said is breakfast included being gold. The agent stated it’s already included with our stay regardless. Then on checkout my wife is told it’s not included. They even admitted to us that the agent made a mistake. Seemingly considering it an offer of good will they ONLY charged 2 nights, 80 Euros, 40 per day. That’s ridiculous. We aren’t breakfast people and would never pay for breakfast. Admitting your staff made a mistake but only partially fixing the problem? Cheating. Front desk manager wouldn’t budge and no one apologized at all. Until this moment I would have stayed in this hotel again, now, no way. Other issues I guess is the hotel cutting costs: no tissues in room, when asked they said they don’t have them. My Motel 6 or other cheap brand hotel visits had tissues. No washcloths just hand and bath towels. Again told they didn’t have. That’s crazy. Keep in mind this is a four star hotel. And there were many other bath items that they didn’t have, like cotton balls, makeup removers, shaving or dental kits etc. This hotel should promptly refund my E 80, do the right thing. Your breakfast wasn’t even close to worth the 40 you charge.

Location is perfect for exploring Alba. The hotel was renovated recently, so the room is nice. On the service side, the front desk wasn't very proactively in helping with our situation. We got all our checked-in luggage delivered by the airline separately two days after arrival. I told the hotel about the situation. The hotel didn't notify us or leave any message upon their arrival, and left them in their luggage room for another day until we asked. Not a very positive experience.

The check in staff are rude an unhelpful. Being a gold member with Accor means nothing. Phone doesn’t work in the room so if you need anything you have to go downstairs. Nothing is provided in the room. You have to physically go to reception to ask for dental kit, toilet rolls etc. There’s a bar at reception area. The reception staff were hanging out there. They were very displeased when we arrived to check in as they have to leave the bar counters. They were chatting away and obviously got interrupted by us coming in to check in.

The location is perfect, staff is very friendly. Unpleasant surprise was that we had to go through an exit door and use construction-style stairs to the first level, where there was another exit door to enter the floor. The floor itself and the room were according to the style of the hotel. I don't understand how can a 4 star hotel have such mismatched style. It felt like we are exiled to a low-category rooms, which seemed like sustained for the staff. There were no elevators and the staircase were cold and dark. I would love to go back to the hotel once more, but the rooms 101-107 not as per of the high standard of the hotel, just because how you can access. The floor was 19 celsius, same for the room, which is during automn season was cold for me already. They could adapt the temperature to 23, but the floor remained very cold.
