A truly magical stay! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, we were amazed by the ambience and the design. The ancient town is unique, we definitely recommend it. We spent 3 nights at the hotel and we cannot thank enough the entire staff who, despite not speaking English, was always there to help and make the most of our stay. An exceptional esperience.

Pros： 1. The team was quite young, with a few promising members. Beyond standardized hotel service, their genuine warmth was appreciated (late check-out assistance - Linda; bell service to room and farewell - Tom & Hank; simple but attentive breakfast service - the F&B guy kindly greeted us, noted the limited offerings due to low occupancy, and helped to toast bread; A-yi prepared each noodle heartfully on New Year‘s day and Lucy who remembered our room number and coffee preference; the enthusiastic gym front desk and coach Xiao Xie). 2. Direct access to Dangkou ancient town from the hotel was very convenient. Cons: 1. Despite low occupancy, our room faced the garage and opened opposite two mahjong rooms -was this a special "treatment" from the hotel? 2. Daily essentials often ran out (or were the pumps faulty?)—hand soap, hand cream, and shower gel as well as the batteries of the scale 3. Breakfast was too basic (variety slightly increased on New Year’s Day, but not enough for praise). while glasses and plates need better cleaning (under low occupancy, minimizing waste is understandable, but a semi-buffet with a salad bar plus à la carte could avoid shortchanging guests). 4. The young team lacked energy and interaction. Luxury hotels, like luxury brands, thrive on thoughtful, warm engagements that leave a lasting impression. On departure day, with more guests, the staff finally seemed more spirited. 5. The "pre-arrival communication" mentioned on review platforms was nonexistent. If this is only for Accor higher status members or KOLs, differentiated treatment is understandable. Overall, 4 nights stay fell short of expectations. I booked this hotel since strongly recommended by a friend works in the industries, I arrived at Dangkou for New Year’s in high spirits but left feeling as gloomy as the drizzling weather. Whilst, I spent a quite cold birthday at Dangkou in a quiet hotel.

Architecture wise is very beautiful but many staff still lack of english. The front reception robert can speak bit english . And the restaurant manager tall chinese man not speak english but willing to describe it with warm heart. Appreciated it. The waitress in breakfast area is young ladies with hold hand in hands and chit chats all the time while the guests need to tell them to pick up dirty plate. This is not M gallery Hotel standard

The hotel is beautiful and it was a great surprise. The hotel staff was very friendly. We also tried the Chrysanthemum restaurant, which was delicious. This hotel is a gem.
