Everywhere looks beautiful, but the staff was too stiff and not welcoming. On the first day, there was no water for showers, and no one informed me at check-in or at any point. I called the front desk about 4 or 5 times, requesting someone to check the water before someone financially came out and told me the water is being worked on. My kids and I couldn't shower until the following day. At some point, my room phone was disconnected. The restaurant staff seemed overworked and asking for anything seemed like it was an inconvenience asking for anything. I don't know if it was worth it but the kids liked the pool.

Stayed here with my kids for 3 nights Environment is calming and beautiful Rooms are nice with large balconies Clean property, contemporary design and also smells good. View from the room was okay, we didn’t get the sea view. What I liked most was getting back to my room at night and seeing the Wind-down ritual from housekeeping at night:beds made with lights turned down,teas for sleeping by the bedside. The spa is welcoming and beautiful. Downside: First, I had a frustrating time trying to reach the property before our stay. Emails are not being responded to! Finally got to speak with someone and he didn’t even get back to me as promised; so it was actually a waste of time speaking with him and exchanging messages as nothing was resolved. As someone that has stayed in other Sofitel properties, I would say the staffs hands are tied in terms of delivering excellent customer service. The fact that the kids villa is only open 2days a week for this size of hotel, it should be open all/year round! My kids were disappointed they couldn’t access this place for 2days. They are used to kids clubs from other Ccor properties and were looking forward to spending time there Sofitel Cotonou needs to do better with staffing in this regard though! Breakfast was a bit boring for me, it was supposed to be a full continental buffet but same selection daily, and some basic things unavailable. I also wanted to have a Hammam at the spa and the service was unavailable. Staff Credit -Victal from Valet was our first contact and he was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay! -Sophos from front desk was also quite friendly and nice -Bernice from housekeeping- calm yet professional Shegun from valet Veronique from front desk Despite the downside, the kids enjoyed the hotel stay-pool, the cinema and the stay in general and would love to visit again Hopefully, we have a much better experience like other Sofitel properties when next we visit.
