We enjoyed our stay , the room was a long walk from the elevator , there could have been an alternative elevator shaft created for those rooms at the rarest end of the hotel building.
The menu choices were limited or unviable during our stay . Our room was beautifully designed , the bedding and pillows were luxurious and we slept very well . We had sea view. Look forward to having access to the beach which they are working on .

From when you get out the car, you are well take care of. Always smiling and ready to help. The reception is very clear about all the services you will receive and the costs and they are just genuinely accommodating! Whilst the staff were very good, there were a few shortfalls that need addressing - delayed response time to replace my faulty room phone, hotel ran out of milk for the coffee bar in the room, and dinner at the Vivo(?) restaurant in particular was less than impressive.

I celebrated my 40th birthday at the Sofitel. From our arrival to our departure, the staff was warm and welcoming. The facilities such as the pool and spa were great and easily accessible.
Having a lounge on the premises was a nice touch. We didn’t have to go out to experience Benin night life. Overall 10/10 experience!

What a great pleasure to experience the true definition of luxury in a country like Benin.
Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa has truly changed the hospitality landscape of the city, with its five-star facilities, outstanding service, and exceptional overall experience. I think we can now boldly say that Sofitel Benin deserves its place among the best Sofitel hotels in the world.
A big thank you to the entire team for their world-class welcome and hospitality. They made my stay truly unforgettable, with so many thoughtful little details that meant a lot.
And of course, a special mention for the incredible Duplex Suite with its private pool — definitely an experience I would highly recommend at least once when staying at the Sofitel Cotonou.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff were friendly. We travelled as a family and wanted to be on the same floor, this was not possible due to availability. Downside to our stay was that we changed rooms on the second day of our stay and forgot our Bluetooth speaker in our old room. We asked for it the next day but we were told it wasn't found. This is quite terrible and tells me the housekeeping staff are not trustworthy.

Warm and pleasant. Nice breakfast selection and tasty. Accommodation was comfortable. The bed in the room was designed with petals to congratulate us on our 28th Wedding Anniversary and we got a personal hand-written letter celebrating my wife and me. However, some areas for improvement - The refrigerator did not work while I was there. They did not change it even when I asked several times so I did not have cold drinks. Though we finally got a box of ice-cubes. No milk or cream for tea/coffee in the room. I would have preferred air vents in the toilet to remove smells after using the toilet. I would have preferred to have a document stating some basic instructions about the use of the room to know that: (1) How to operate the Air-conditioner (2) That the Air-conditioner goes off when I leave the door to the balcony open.

The stay at the Sofitel Hotel in Cotonou was very comfortable overall. The only unfortunate situation was that our booking team did not inform the hotel in time that I would be staying for an additional night.
As a result, when I returned to the hotel in the evening, my room had been locked, and I was informed that a late check-out charge would apply. I was also asked to wait in the lobby until the reception team received the updated reservation. Once the reservation was confirmed, I was able to access my room and continue my stay.
Despite this inconvenience, the overall stay was comfortable and satisfactory.
