Widely overpriced for what you get. A standard room for 250euros. I asked for a superior room with a king size bed, what I got was a standard room.The linen and towels are not that white! The bathroom sink is right in the room, the bathroom doesn’t have a door, as you shower the water spills everywhere! No I wouldn’t recommend

Novotel has become our home away from home in Cotonou. The staff are friendly, warm, and professional. They always greet me by name and that makes you feel special. My family loves spending time at this property and will continue to frequent there to stay, rest, and relax.

I had a good stay at the Novotel. The room was tastefully furnished and was comfortable. though the room was small considering the price, the furniture blended seamlessly with the rest of the room. Making me feel at ease to work and sleep.

The AC is not working in the room 202. The second lift wasn't clean, there was water into it..So there was a queue at the reception. I do have to ask someone to mop up the lift, so people can use the two lifts instead of one. Other thing, the hotel was so crowded at that day, 13th of August.

The team at the front desk and in the restaurant does not understand smiling and always try to please the customer - we are 'friends' - not enemies there !!! Why can we not extend the stay at the reception ? ..... they told me not possible ! - and we have to go to the room and get on the week wifi - and book again a new stay at the internet at the same hotel !!!! ... ha ha ha ... what is that ? ....... I'm staying here for 4 month ! - so I have to do this every last day at the month ? ....... at the internet you can only book one month at the time !!!! ... ha ha ha .... no good and not profesionel !!! ..... you also state that the longer you stay the cheaper it gets per night ...... but we can only book one month ahead ... so how is that posible ?

Spent one night here while attending a family event in Porto Novo. Standard Novotel fare. Clean, functional, no frills. Double occupancy room came with only one bath towel. Housekeeping provided one quickly. Stay spoilt by wait of more than an hour for our admittedly late supper.

Overall stay was very disappointing, I have been several times to this hotel and it's getting worst and worst. The whole hotel is suffering from the lack of renovations for years and absolutely 0 work has been done. At least before the employees were friendly. This will be my last stay as there has been several new hotels in town.

Nice place with great amenities. But the front desk committed an error in billing, and billed me twice. I am still waiting for refund in my card account. As a result I have had to cut short my West Africa tour by a week and I will suffer financial loss.

The hotel is in desperate need of a makeover. -The hallways are rundown and smell moldy, and the rooms have the same issue. -Rooms need new furniture, including new beds. Currently the beds are very close to the floor, and my mattress was lopsided. Duvet had mosquito blood on my arrival. Everyone in our group was kept awake at least one night due to mosquitoes in room. -Bathrooms need updating, and a few days I didn't have hot water (just lukewarm). -Wifi was very poor--better in lobby than room, but in room often didn't really work at all. -Pool is pretty nice, but two issues: first, the let non-guests use it, and local boys in underwear were swimming--not the sign of a 4* hotel, and second, the pool attendant was not attentive--had to track him down for towels. -Breakfast is ok, but understaffed--be prepared to make your own coffee/tea and to figure out how to use the machines. You can order eggs, if you can track someone down to order them. -Restaurant service was great at times, and slow at times. Food was hit or miss as well--some things better than others. The bar was particularly slow. I only ate at the hotel, and avoided raw foods, but still had an upset stomach twice during the trip. -Front desk staff sometimes did not speak English. -A few times had issues with our key cards not working (one colleague was locked out for a while before they could fix his door). My safe also jammed. Elevator also broke once while I was in it. ATM was broken many days. -No gym as advertised. -Checkout was a mess. Bills were all incorrect (adding accommodation when it had been prepaid). Only one person working even though it was a prime checkout time before one of the few international flights. She couldn't figure out how to print all of the pages of the bill and was getting nasty with us when we said we needed the entire bill (a common thing!). -Overall, many of the staff members were nice, but if we had another option, we would not stay here again.

A bit run down, poor connectivity in some of the rooms. Not fit to be a four star hotel, not meet the standard of Novotel brand. Bed height is very low, mattress wasn't firm. Location, pool and greenery in the open areas are a plus
