Our first stay last year was excellent, we love the hotel and its position. Just few minor let down ‘s this year, not sure if its cut backs or an abbreviation. No robes in room and had to ask twice, coffee machine leaked, coffee pods were scarce ( we purchased our own)and pods bin not emptied. Block out blind drawing rod was broken. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be back but the attention to small details was missing on this stay.

Our go-to accom in Broadbeach for our regular annual visit to Blues on Broadbeach music festival. Sofitel rooms provide clean, comfortable, well serviced 4 star accommodation with onsite amenities – the prefect 'home away from home' retreat for the festival duration. Helpful hotel staff are professional while remaining friendly and accommodating. Sofitel's prime location, at the epicentre of the festival activity with views across to festival stages is a huge plus for us. When we're not enjoying the view and music from a balcony room, with only a minutes walking distance to most of the festival's main adjacent venues and attractions, there isn't a more perfect festival accommodation location.

First of all the staff needs training- 1) I requested reception to book a taxi at 3 pm on my departure day, they called and wake me up at 3 am to inform my taxi has arrived- they wrongly have booked 3 am instead of 3 pm- I could not go back to sleep after that 2) Staf have wrong information about area- I was a visitor from Melbourne, attending a conference, I asked a staff member about directions to go to skypoint observation, he has given me wrong tram stop- I only realised I passed the actual location when I was looking around and asked some one else- they said I passed the correct stop 3) Room quality is poor- need to upgrade bathroom- toilet had black stain, bathrom shower has water leak, 4) Room is outdated- the lighting system is so confusing , it is hard to find the right switch to each light- did not like the whole room in general
