We are long-term Mantra on The Park customers, having stayed at this location at least 6 times. We have noted a general drop in standards over the last couple of years but were prepared to give the venue a chance, however after our recent visit, will not be returning. Our bad experience started at check in where we were treated with what I can only describe as utter contempt by the woman behind the counter. She gave us the impression that we were a nuisance and couldn't really be bothered serving us or for that matter even smiling. When we got up to our room, we discovered the bed only had sheets on it. We thought housekeeping would come back with the rest of the bedding so we waited. When nothing happened, we inquired at reception only to be told that no bedding is a new Mantra policy. They told us there was a blanket in the cupboard that we could use. We went back and found the blanket - it stunk and had obviously not been laundered in a long time if the number of marks and stains on it were anything to go by. So, back down to reception to ask for some bedding but were told that this definitely could not be provided. So basically, we woke up early each morning cold. Just to confirm, we paid $AU500 - $AU600 for the nights during the weekend and a bit less during the week - but The Mantra can only provide a sheet for the bed? Goodbye Mantra on The Park. It's been good and now it's not. We won't be back.
