Very disappointing reception, it seemed that the young man just couldn’t be bothered. The quiet room we had requested, and which he confirmed we had been given, turned out to be facing the main road and not the inner courtyard as he had told us. The wifi in the room didn’t work. The said receptionist showed little interest, took my phone and connected it in the usual way with the words ‘it’s working now”, ignoring the fact that it was clearly not working in our room. There was a dried up silverfish (?) stuck to the bedlinen which the friendly night porter eventually changed. Parking was not available. We were a told to find a space in the nearby multi-storey carpark. We did. It cost €20 per night.

We would like to clarify that we did not confirm a room facing the inner courtyard in advance, as we generally never guarantee specific room locations beforehand. Your request for a quiet room was noted and communicated as “subject to availability.” Unfortunately, at the time of your arrival, no courtyard-facing rooms were available anymore, so we were unable to fulfill this request. The same applies to our parking spaces. We do not reserve parking in advance, and spaces are only available subject to availability. This was also communicated accordingly prior to arrival. Friendly and efficient welcome. Fortunate to be upgraded to a Privilege Room, good size and amenities. Pillows could have been softer to my taste. Grateful that despite using the “no clean” option being the complimentary items in the room were replenished daily. Hotel is less than five minutes from the railway station with connections to Hamburg and close to the city centre.

The receptionist didn't speak English well. He didn't know that there is a parking right in front of the hotel to send me there, so, instead, he recommended ones that were either closed or far and full as I went there without finding a single spot. I found this parking by myself. Also, I became a member to get a better price for the room but none of the things that are supposed to be offered to members, happened, like welcoming drink (not that I wanted it but still I must say that).

We stayed one night with family. We rented 2 rooms. All over our stay was very comfortable. Clean rooms, very helpful staff, great location. Cannot say anything about food because we did not stay for breakfast. However, the only one significant matter I would like to highlight... We booked 2 rooms, one for my sister with her 7yrs old sone, and another room for me and my husband. We checked in 4 hours earlier than my sister. We specifically booked a double adult room, and a single with a young child. My sister's room ended up being almost twice bigger than the room which my husband and I stayed. That looked exactly vice versa to what we requested. That was too late to exchange, because we all were tired. I learned my lesson to check into 2 rooms at once and check then before moving in. Just watch for this in any hotel. Other than that, all was great 👍🏼
